That's fooked your chances of any help from MB (not that you need any)!
I can't make the next couple of weekends i'm afraid...
Working tomorrow on the London to Brighton bicycle ride as roadside help
and off on holiday at the end of next week
Have fun.

I know its for a good cause but it goes right past the end of my road and through my village.
Makes it a real pain in the arse to get out and for that reason i hate it.

Re: Box Hill
Me and Wildbill were thinking of doing a serious run down to Eastbourne.
I know a great route via Westerham/Ashdown Forest, plenty of twisties plus a good 10/15 mile section of flat out long straights with minor roundabouts.
Plus when you get down there,a superb section from Beachy Head to Birling Gap where theres a cafe/bar.
Would make a change from Boxhill.

While i was chatting to Rintintin about doing a coastal ride i forgot to mention i just so happened to stumble across a daily bike meet, bikes seemed to be there no matter what time i went past in a village called Rye, i wouldn't say it was packed but there was at least 50-100 bikes, the roads were lovely too!

WB You probably have stumbled into the Kent/Sussex bikers meet. Megawatt has invited members over to Rye to experience the good stretches of road and as a recent member I intend to drop in one evening

Re: Box Hill
I have invited most of you lot down here several times. An evening rideout is best for me. But if you wanna come down while I'm having a" Family day" I can post up some routes and helrazzer can put em on his Sat nav. Bill ,that road between Beachy Head and Birling gap is known as the Washboard coz it will shake yer teeth out!!! The better roads are the A259 from Eastbourne to Seaford and the Alfriston B road from Seaford all the way to Lower Dicker. As for the Marsh roads, you'll be in biking heaven when you try em for the first time. I can't stress enough that Sunday is no longer a good day though, loadsa cars, tourists and COPS!!! Gimme a bell for a great evening rideout?

Re: Box Hill
a ride down that way would make a nice change, and a weekday eve would be good to do it.
If any wants to sort something out or suggest a eve to do it, i'll be up for that.

Greetings mate, to be honest i've not taken much notice of any of the longer rides that have been posted because i've been using the XR600 and that's terrible to do any kind of distance on but now the Blade is on the threshold of completion longer rides are now on the cards.
I was actually staying in Camber last week and decided to take the kids to Hastings for the day via the A259 and that's how i stumbled upon that meeting point at Rye in the carpark next to the little boat harbor. It would be great to come down for a cuppa and a ride with you in a couple of weeks so you can take us round bike heaven.
Yeah! Flipping hell, i knew i should have stopped!!!!scotty80 wrote:was that on the 28th as me and hellrazzer thought that we had seen you drive past?? in rye
The Mrs would have thrown i right wobbly tho as it was a family holiday so stopping to look at bikes was strictly off limits
