Project RRN with R6 tail plastics
Got the spanners out & attacked the Fireblade with the angle grinder this afternoon.
Managed to get it to the trial fitting stage, endless measuring & marking out to do next, then the welding.

Re: Project RRN with R6 tail plastics
Not sure what to do with the bottom arms of the subframe yet. Was going to cut the bottom arms off the Fireblade subframe & get them welded onto the R6 subframe to extend them to get the desired tail height.
BUT........
The Fireblade subframe is made of bigger square tubing than the R6.
Any ideas Haggler?

Re: Project RRN with R6 tail plastics
Done a few more measurements today & managed to get the seat subframe nice & square.
Cut the tank bracket off the Fireblade subframe & ,marked out where it needs to be welded on the R6 subframe.

Re: Project RRN with R6 tail plastics
Keeping them all for now just incase it goes a bit Pete Tong! Lol
Once the make-over is complete will probably out all the original parts that I have accumalated to free up some space in the garage & finance the next bit of tampering!

Managed to find time today to make a measurements.
Just need to decide how to extend the lower arms of the seat subframe next.

Re: Project RRN with R6 tail plastics
Iv'e looked at this alot over the past few days, and (hope I don't offend) I cant decide weather I like it or not......
I'll reserve judgement for when it's painted up and see what it looks like then...
It certainly updates the rear end to look more like the 2001 onwards Blade, but ....nope...the jury is still out..!

Re: Project RRN with R6 tail plastics
Cheers Nige.
Still got the original parts. Would just need to get another Blade subframe to take it back to standard.
Got some footrest adjuster plates, R6 hugger, crash bungs & a different front mudguard to fit too.

Absolutley, some people look at all the polished stuff and the bagster colour coded seat covers on mine and think they look tacky and crap, but I love them, so your right, each to their own

Re: Project RRN with R6 tail plastics
It aint at the minute Nige!
Been flat out busy at work plus doing up our house & having the kids every other weekend!
Theres just not enough hours in the day mate!!!
Today I have been block paving my drive again as we had to take it all up to build the garage & conservatory.
Hopefully I have earnt enough "brownie points" to spend a couple of hours on the bike one evening this week!
