Re: My new paintwork
Got well pissed off with the brackets for the fairing and I received a parcel this morning, so I thought why not fit that instead. Just mocked up for now, but it is the right colour?
It's a standard can shortened to make a stubby, a bit quieter than most stubbys, so I don't wake the neighbours at 0630 in the morning. Just hope it allows the engine to breath ok, unlike the one I made!!!

Alan the riders footrests seem to be the chunky ones from the first blades. Is this intentional?

Re: My new paintwork
Nice little mod moving the ignition from the top yoke, I loved that on mine as people used to look at it & wonder where the key went, I was LMAO when I took it for it's MOT & the examiner sat on my bike with the key in his hand & spent a couple of minutes looking to see where it went & then had to ask where the ignition was
Are you gonna remove the ally loop where it sat on the top yoke? I think it really cleans things up around the clock area etc!

Re: My new paintwork
Just looking at the way you fixed the ignition, I think it would be that bit more secure if you fixed it like I did.
Like this
I used a round headed bolt & put the nut on the inside which makes it much harder for the theiving scum to remove the barrel & nick yer bike!

Re: My new paintwork
Mine has a long allen bolt from the inside and a domed M6 nut on the outside. You have to take the tank off to get at the allen bolt head to undo it. Thanks for the tip though mate.

Re: My new paintwork
Have you got any more pix of your set up Griz, not sure how I can make it more secure. What have you got on the inside, two M6 nuts? Yeah I had to cut the loop off the top yoke to fit the clocks in!

Sorry mate, that's the only pic I've got. Yep I pushed the round headed bolt through from the outside & secured it from inside the engine bay using a couple of nuts & some locktight.

Re: My new paintwork
I thought while I have the tank off I'll have look at moving the ignition.
Turns out it didnt look to be that difficult
First thing I did was to remove the ignition switch from the mounting on the top yoke.
Then undid the 10mm bolt on the right side, in the base on the front tray that sits just infront and below the air box. This was so I could draw back the switch. A bit of f**king about when you see what is coming next.
Oh look! a connector, if I hadn't been so dumb I could have uncliped that and pulled it through from the other direction. Yeah yeah I know.
The next thing I did was to remove the two engine mounting bracket bolts on the left of the bike, thats my left not yours, well, I guess it depends on what way you are looking at this. Oh who gives a fack anyway. Just take out any old two bolts, its up to you what ones!!!
So, anyway, where was I? Oh yes, I remember.
A while ago, a mate, Hueyonablade showed me how to fit a Kwak 600 fender on my front end. Well, I had a bit of the ally angle left over from that fantastic conversion and thought it might be just the thing to make a mounting bracket from.
So I did!
I wraped the barrel in a bit of tape and gave it a coat of black paint, you know, the stuff with te twinkly bits in it. I like twinkles!
Mmmmmmmmmmm Twinkles.............
Anyway, the angley ally twinkly black brackety bracket bolted on the the back of the engine mounting bracket.
Like that^^^^^^^^^^Look^^^^^^^^^^
And the wires just sat down between the air box and the frame.
And from the out side the ignition looks quite ok there and not at all in ya face.
Does that help buddy?

Nice work CBRRRT, but what are you going to do with that gaping hole in your top yoke? Cut it out or fit a flux capacitor?
