Re: brunch run august 5th - Midlands
right i need a head count i have gotta start to get stuff in so peeps that are coming to the bbq state your name (yes leggins i know you are coming)
i dont know the route yet as russ is sorting that but i think we are doing the snake pass. we might not be on the blade as russ might still be a bit sore so we might be taking his dads bmw. so we wont be really quick sorry but will do our best to keep up
dont forget those that are staying the night might wanna bring sleeping bags or an air bed unless you were one of the lucky ones that have blagged the sofa

Re: brunch run august 5th - Midlands
snake pass? on a sunday?
I should be joining you on the sunday morning but not keen on doing snake pass, may take a detour when you hit the pass and meet you further on.

the snake is fine on a sunday its not too bad russ likes to keep off the cat too many rozzers so you cant get up much speed

mark 11 wrote:Why's that then
I dont like the snake pass for several reasons, the gixer is pretty much a very focused sportbike with hard suspension, the snake is like riding on tarmac laid over boulders, coupled with the fact that the surface is breaking up badly, makes it a very unpleasant experience, add the tin snails, the fact that the snake and woodhead are the 2 major east to west routes means its busy during the week, and worse on a weekend. To me the snake is just a wider and longer highwayman, great for a supermoto. Its nearly as bad as strines in places

Re: brunch run august 5th - Midlands
yep
some cracking roads round there, just cant understand why folk like snake pass when there are some much better roads in the surrounding area.
only good thing about the snake is the food/drink/toilet stop up by derwent damn opposite ladybower.
