Spain lads bike holiday 2012
Spain 2012
We have done this trip for the last 2 years and its been fantastic.
The location is at L’Estartit on the Med coast in north east Spain, this is where we base ourselves. It’s a small beach town with no nightclubs, but the bars stay open for as long as you want. We don’t go short on entertainment.
From here we go on rides to Port Vendres over past Roses and the hills, down into Tossa De Mar on the infamous “Road of a 1000 bends”, up through Olot and onto Mollo and the French/Spanish border, and anywhere else that takes our fancy. Rides are usually about 80 to 200 miles in length and we generally spend out time like this:
Get everybody up, eat what you can or go for a “brekky”,
leave villa abut 11am and go for ride, stop off for the odd bevvy here and there, then ride back to villa, this can take anything up to 8 hours when we get lost, which we do sometimes.
Get to villa and get sorted, showers, food, beer, drinks on the veranda before going out for a beer or 2.
Arrive back to villa, then:
Older guys, who left the rest of them at about 1.00 am: beers on the veranda, beddy byes.
Younger guys: finding their way to “out of the way” disco’s and having to get a lift back with the road sweeper wagon, getting so drunk that they fall asleep on a bit of grass in town, getting lost, appearing unconscious on the drive of the villa not knowing where they have been and having to be rescued by one of the “older guys” we mentioned before. Lots of fun and shenanigans.
This goes on for 7 days, get up, ride some cracking roads, get back, go out, get as pissed as you are comfortable with, go to bed, get up ………………
We do this (all lads) trip for about under £420 each. That’s your bike, and you, in Spain, for a week, in a villa with a pool, all diesel paid, all crossings paid, the villa paid, tolls paid, the lot, all you need is two like minded mates and a car with a trailer you can fit 3 bikes on.
We are going from Saturday 2nd of June to Saturday 9th June so you only have to have 3 days off work. There are 4 villas all with single beds, so the smallest ones sleep 8 people, if you want to know owt else PM me and I’ll give you all the details.
Im not selling owt here or organising a guided tour, but if you want some fun in the sun on yer bike this summer you could do worse that getting on this “Do”. There is a wide spread of ability going on a fairly wide spread of bikes, '92 VFR 750, '95 VFR 750, '98 Blade, '02 900 Hornet, ZRX 1200, Ducati 1198, so there should be always someone to ride with.
PM me and I’ll give you all the details, villa contact, ferry booking times, etc.

Re: Spain lads bike holiday 2012
2 people in one car still sharing the villa.
Crossing £108
Tolls £100
One eighth of the villa cost X 2 = 416/8 X 2 = £104
Deisel at 30mpg = £420
Total = £732
Total each = £366
This is for a week, in spain, in a villa, on the mediteranean coast, with your bike, all transport costs and accomodation paid.
Bargain?

Re: Spain lads bike holiday 2012
The more people come, the more room we have coz we just get another villa, split up nad share the cost. Dont be worried about having to sleep on a settee for a week, these villas are basic but have 4 bedrooms with twin beds in each, actually, ours had 5 bedrooms, but no one wanted the single with no windows, untill the snoring started, then it was a common thing to grab your bedding and toddle off down to the single room only to find some bastard had beaten you to it. I just sleep with ear plugs, the most noisy snorer was in my room (no it wasnt me, i was second noisyest) and i never heard a thing!

Re: Spain lads bike holiday 2012
I cant understand why there isnt a queue of people wanting to join us on this trip. I've been organising these kind of trips for me and me mates since 1988 and never had more than 13 people (on one occasion), but usually its between 5 and 8. After all, how else are you going to get you and your bike to the Med coast in Spain for less? The good thing about this trip is that you have a "Plan B", if it all goes tits up and you smash your bike up (and dont f**k yourself up into the bargain) you can get yourself and your bike back home on the trailer.

Re: Spain lads bike holiday 2012
i'd love to mate, but cant justify it at the moment, it'll be closer to 600 after fuel in the bike and food, plus my car is a v70 auto 2.4l petrol and pulling half a tone of bikes and trailer will suck the juice lol

Re: Spain lads bike holiday 2012
Yeah, you got to budget on £25 per day in fuel in the bike. Food wise we either cook it ourselves, go for a curry, or a chinese buffet at €9 per person, or (if were are feeling really lazy) go for half a kebab, that bloke off Man V Food woulkd struggle to eat a full one!
I make it sound like its a right chavvy place with all the curry houses etc, but its not, there are only 2 curry houses in town and one of them doubles as the kebab shop.

Re: Spain lads bike holiday 2012
Well we are half way there, i've just booked the ferries for the 2 cars and trailers £109 each on DFDS Dover to Dunkirk.
Just waiting on confirmation from the villa company now.
Just found out that another two people are coming, my mate from last year, but not on his 1198, he's buying a 600 to do it on, he said the 1198 was "Too much" for the roads we ride on. So our 9 berth villa is full, apart from the single room with no windows, that will go to the first person who gets fed up with the snoring!
