Very little success mate .......... was trying to remain civil to the rest fo the guys but inside I was a bear with a sore head all morning
I did manage to get one session which had a very narrow dryish line which hampered any kind of idea about pushing harder. Still got both knees down but the bike really did start to move about "A LOT" . Two wheels drifts at Duffus, the left at the bottom of Duffus & the hairpin was a little hairy but good experience. Traction control was going nut's, especially out the hairpin
First few laps I just found my feet having not been out (the rest of the group had) and then slowly built some good pace. Never got passed once which I was happy with and managed my best lap at 58.6 with the majority of the quick laps being mid 59's after a few 60/61's for the first 2 or 3 laps.
The last session was wetter than the first so decided not to bother given the amount of sliding I was down in the last session. I was thinking that the tyres would get changed after this track day so given the state they were in, probably not the best rubber to have out in the wet.
Away to get a rear wheel

You'll love Cadwell, it's a great track.
If you've never been on track before just relax and enjoy, don't push yourself to achieve too much first time out.

Re: Knockhill 13.8.11
Zip together leathers are fine so long as the zip goes all the way around the waist.
The advice I'd give you is try to relax, take your mirrors off, concentrate only on what is in front never on who is behind and keep eating light snacks and drinking fluids (not Red Bull / Monster etc).
I've only got one left this year - Cadwell on the 3rd October but I'm afraid it's a no novices day.
