Re: Ace Cafe Fireblade Day 2011
Another mail from the Ace Cafe today:
Hi Simon
I’m just picking up following Mark’s email below to ask if you could let me know what you anticipate bringing with you.. banners, gazebo etc?
Please also let me know if you intend to run any competition on the day – Best Bikes or some such – Ace will of course support any competition with a few goodies for the winner(s).
Look forward to hearing from you
Kind regards
jan

The club banner is here with me Simon, and in all probability should have some northern visitors that week end.

Re: Ace Cafe Fireblade Day 2011
Probably an idea to get a definite date sorted FBF so people can get planning...Just arrange it for the sunniest day in July when no other events are going on...flipping hell, the Blades should come before all these events anyway, their both gonna be televised! Before long it's gonna be "oh we can't go on the Sun 17th July because the east of England folk dance and steam rally is on"!!!fastbikefinder wrote:I've asked for the week before or after just incase.918eds wrote:3rd of july is also bsb at snetterton aswell as the festival of speed,

Bill, I hear you mate, but the 3rd is still a definite date. A couple of people have stated other big things going on so I've merely made an enquiry for now to see if anything is possible.
FYI, I'm meeting Lord Lucan on Old London Bridge on the 24th of July so can't do that date myself, he needs me to help him change the clutch cable on his C90

Re: Ace Cafe Fireblade Day 2011
To be fair, we want to make sure that the people who wont be attending because of other fixtures and events happening on the 3rd, would genuinely be attending if the day was moved, otherwise it seems pointless going to all the effort of organising if this isnt the case.

Beer and banter in the paddock the night before is compulsory.
With no limits, if 10 or more book, you get 10% off.
So say one at donnington, then later at rockingham ?
Put brands in there to, Mega likes that track.
With donnington being the main one ?
Or even silverstone ?
Easy for me to say i did 8 last year.
Sounds good to me mate
Beer and banter in the paddock the night before is compulsory.
For me, goes without saying
Although, might be best having the piss up after the track day

i have to agree that the Ace was a pretty shite venue. A meet at Box Hill, then ride to Bury Hill and onwards to Bognor is a lovely run. Just a thought...... i have a sofa spare for anyone from north of Watford

I kinda agree with you Chimpy about the Ace not being an ideal venue but it is riddled with bike nostalgia and is fairly well know round the bikey world as the bikers cafe so it is fitting for the occasion. I'm not keen on doing a repeat of last year and riding up with a large group Blades, i do that journey everyday to work and it took 3 times as long to get there on Blade day...and it was a Sunday with hardly any traffic!!!
I happy to go to the Ace again but this time only with a handful of bikes
