Nice work fbf, love the idea of the Queenstown meet (spent many a year up there before the posh knobs moved in and put a stop to it) also like the idea of the Docklands meet.
Personally i'd prefer to do the Queenstown, Hyde Park, Park Lane, Paddington A40 to Hanger Lane route but i'm happy to go with the flow, i just think the financial district & city will be dead whereas the Chelsea route should be quite busy with fashion victims and tourists? And... it will be slow moving traffic so everyone can admire all the Blades as we roll past Yes i know, i'm a poser
As i said though i'm easy, just let me know where and when and i'll be there (as long as it's not raining)

Re: Firebladeriders Day - Sunday 4th July - Ace Cafe
Everything can be reviewed in the coming months, I thought the A24 for Mega's ride up would be one of the nicer routes from the south, with a meet at 'the bridge' to catch up with people who aren't on the ride out.
I also thought that the Docklands would be a good meeting point for those who are either near the Blackwall tunnel + those who will be coming down the M11, A12, A127, M2, A2 etc etc.. Those of us that choose to meet at the Dog's can then ride down to meet the rideout crew at Chelsea bridge Shell garage.

Re: Firebladeriders Day - Sunday 4th July - Ace Cafe
Just a suggestion on the above route since the meet up point being Chelsea Bridge run along the Embankment to Earls Court across the A4 head towards Shepherds Bush and along the Great West Road A40 towards Hanger Lane and then pick up the A406 to the Ace which is about a mile further up.
Some 4 members who are distance travellers will be staying at Orpington but will confirm nearer the time.

Re: Firebladeriders Day - Sunday 4th July - Ace Cafe
That is the most direct route Mick but it's a bit boring, just thought it would be good to have possibly the largest collection of Blades ever all riding up Park Lane then up the Edgware rd to the A40. I may even opt for the Blackwall/Docklands meet, both meeting points are about 20mins away from me so either's good for me.masterblader wrote:Just a suggestion on the above route since the meet up point being Chelsea Bridge run along the Embankment to Earls Court across the A4 head towards Shepherds Bush and along the Great West Road A40 towards Hanger Lane and then pick up the A406 to the Ace which is about a mile further up.

Re: Firebladeriders Day - Sunday 4th July - Ace Cafe
The only exciting route through Central London will be the streets of Soho in the early hours WB. Some members might find London traffic a little daunting, however Gizer Matt found it extremely exciting dealing with the congestion in Kingsway and Euston Road. Many months to ponder and sure we'll get a fantastic turnout.

Thurrock Service station is the last junction on the M25. Ater the Dartford crossing the numbering starts again and I'm at junction 3 and should be able to sort something out for you.CBR Jane wrote:Look! I can find Thurrocks services after that help!

I'm not exhagerating when I say getting lost for me is as easy as pie, how the hell I'm going to find Sorrento next year - got to plan that one in 'peter and jane' detail lol.
Going to sort a sat nav for then.

Since the number of attendees is increasing steadily we need to establish as to who are attending the Ace Cafe (Sunday only) and those intending to do the Rye Rideout / BBQ on Fri/Sat with Megawilly. Looking for a bright spark to post up a list for Sunday only and one for the Rye.

Sorry Mega... Its just dawned on me your neighbours are gonna cop the right strop with you, how they gonna react to your nice quiet rural little road/close being swapped with Blades and i should imagine most of them will have performance pipesmasterblader wrote:Since the number of attendees is increasing steadily we need to establish as to who are attending the Ace Cafe (Sunday only) and those intending to do the Rye Rideout / BBQ on Fri/Sat with Megawilly.
Come July i can see 50 bikes plus!!!

I've had 20 bikes lined up outside my house Bill,as long as people aren't too lairy on a Sunday morning we should be ok. My neighbours are pretty good. May do the big meet down the road though, depending on numbers. Can't wait.!
