Re: My CRR1000RR-05
As soon as the pipe and undertail's fitted correctly i'll do a flypast, luckily i have a stretch of road with no side turnings etc not far from here called the "Mad Mile", i'll do a 150mph+ flypast down there for ya, won't be for a while yet tho because i want to get it sprayed before it's fitted.shadow wrote:We need a few flypast videos

Re: My CRR1000RR-05
I spent a few hours today fitting my carbon swinging arm covers, as always it was a bit more involved than i thought but i'm happy with the end result, just the carbon chain guard to fit now and that should round it off nicely.

Re: My CRR1000RR-05
Yeh i'm quite pleased with how it's starting to look, once the carbon heat shield is on and the carbon chain guard it should look a bit better, there's also a couple of places where i need to stick some carbon patches so the back end looks like solid carbon, then once the wheels are painted it should look really good.
Yeh, i'm on good terms with the owner of the road, i can do speed tests whenever i wantfastbikefinder wrote:Oh, your lucky to have one of those private roads so close to you.
The hugger was already on it but i purchased the frame & s/arm carbon from 1 supplier and the tank panels from another. Luckily they all have the same weave other than the hugger that has a slightly larger weave but you can only tell if you look really closely.fastbikefinder wrote:Have you bought all the carbon bits from different suppliers or from 1?

Think your right lads, i was thinking that yesterday once i fitted the panels, i'm getting the HRC mini master cylinder hose thingamebob but a "yellow line & blue banjo" is completely out the question Cabbiestuart wrote:Looking good bud, but agree about brake lines

Bill, if you go with the HRC rear kit then you will have to use Dot 5 synthetic so it doesn't damage all that lovely carbon. A 100% complete flush of all the old dot 4 will be required also as the 2 musn't mix.
Also, brake fluid either dot 4 or 5 sweats in the HRC kit tubing so I'd source some Saint Gobain Tygon tubing and use a slightly longer piece than the HRC if I were you. You can get tygon tubing from RC model shops that do petrol RC cars + planes etc, but it must be tygon as it is brake fluid and petrol proof.
Then you wont have the green tint in the tube, you can use a longer piece and put a tightly fitting bolt in the end with some clear solvent proof silicone.

I know, i have a very understanding wife, i have almost £10 saved up and the Mrs said she would give me 2 whole pounds for christmas so i can afford the HRC tubemegawatt wrote:You're gonna pay all that money for a bit of tubing and a tie wrap. Wish I had your money Bill!!!
It's not actually 100% cert that i'm gonna do this HRC kit thing, i'm just not over-keen on that long hose leading to the reservoir, think i need to explore my alternatives really.fastbikefinder wrote:Bill, if you go with the HRC rear kit then you will have to use Dot 5 synthetic so it doesn't damage all that lovely carbon. Oh, I thought it cost a lot more than that! Expensive bit of tube though, are you buying it for the sticker?

Re: My CRR1000RR-05
Oh sorry mate i thought you knew they was £12, your right though, basically you are paying £12 for a few inches of green tube, a clip, a teenie weenie cap & an HRC sticker.megawatt wrote:Oh, I thought it cost a lot more than that! Expensive bit of tube though, are you buying it for the sticker?
As fbf said you could probably source the whole lot from a model shop for under £1 but...
you don't get a HRC sticker

Re: My CRR1000RR-05
Bill,
How about a nice G craft reservoir? They are about £40 - £60.
Before:
After:
I think you can get polished ally or satin black. you could even buy the ally and have it anodised in a colour you fancy?
