Cadwell trackday
Now then
I was gonna leave taking the Blade on the track till 2011, after I'd had a year to get familiar with the bike but I've succumbed and decided to do a trackday at Cadwell this friday 15th October. Hopefully it will be dry
It's a 'Bike magazine' organised day, one of their 'give trackdays back to road riders' days where no vans or tyrewarmers are allowed, hence no race or track only bikes. The idea is to make trackdays less intimidating for road riders. Should be just the atmosphere to get me back on the track after (one lap of the Nurburgring last year on the XJR apart) not being on the track for 3 years and getting the Blade on track for the first time

Re: Cadwell trackday
Ive been reading about them days, sounds a very good idea.
After seeing no end of threads, on other sites about trackdays being turned into sub racedays, with vans, loads of tools (me being one), stands, tyre warmers, spare wheels with wets on, long gone are the days with the whole novice group being guys who have ridden up for the day.
Have a good day mate.

Re: Cadwell trackday
To be honest I've never found the people at track days the least bit intimidating and to my mind Bike are in danger of creating the very intimidation they say they're trying to remove.
Having said that go enjoy, you'll have an absolute ball!

Re: Cadwell trackday
Enjoy it mate, Cadwell is a superb track, especially The Mountain. Just ride at yer own pace and don't get sucked into racing other riders! Get someone to take pix of ya?

Re: Cadwell trackday
Reminds me of my first track day proper, at Cadwell funnily enough, on my GSXR750WS in 1996 with number plate, indicators and mirrors all still attached
Done plenty since then so no worries, including two days at Nogaro in Southern France with an open pit lane in 2001 which worked really well

Re: Cadwell trackday
Now then
Great, great day. Wet track at the start. Dry line by the second session, sun trying to get out by the third
Well run by MSV, only one 'off' in our group, in the first session and only a couple of 'off's over all the groups throughout the day, so no hold ups which is the first time that's happened on a track day I've been on
Got 5 sessions then it pissed down at 4 o'clock as forecast but the day was awesome for the middle of October

Re: Cadwell trackday
Sounds like a good day all in. Can't complain too much about the weather if it was dry most of the day.

Re: Cadwell trackday
Nice one mate.
I have only done Cadwell once and it was wet all day and being so far from me it was very frustrating but love the circuit and must go there next year on the new bike.
How did you find the mountain and the hairpin under the trees after Hall Bends when it had been raining, slippery as f**k I found.
