Re: Cadwell Trackday 2008
Taz immediately starts planning his attack on his wife's objections.....
Is that part of the track picked out in red because that's the part of the track the day is on?

I just took the pic from their site, I presume its going to be the full track on the day, I'll double check.

Re: Cadwell Trackday 2008
Bike dont normally go on the short track because the hair pin would be to tight (highside city).
Plus you turn off before the mountain, whats the point of going to cadwell without that.
Its a great track Taz, you will love it.

Re: Cadwell Trackday 2008
That's why I was asking, I have been wanting to try Cadwell and the Mountain since I first went on track at Knockhill, it just looks a really fun track.
Do we need to pay at time of booking? (Probably I imagine).

Just make sure the bike don't hit you in the face mate, just joking the mountain does take some working out.
I hope to make it to cadwell again just waiting on something

Looks like I can probably do this, is there anywhere that's cheap to stay that people have used before?

Re: Cadwell Trackday 2008
Well I'm booked, in Intermediate which is making me a bit nervous as I don't know the track at all.
Anyone got good suggestions of places to stay... or space in a van from Scotland?

Re: Cadwell Trackday 2008
I'm less worried about the sleeping, and more worried about getting the bike home if I screw up.

Well I'll be there on a '99 (T reg) Repsol Blade and wearing black Crowtree leathers. Say hi if you see me.
Re: Cadwell Trackday 2008
Well I may be Billy No Mates, but I had a ball and the weather was fantastic.

Re: Cadwell Trackday 2008
I've ended up working off-base in Norwich for the last few weeks so I stayed with a friend in Lincoln on Thursday night and rode up to the track fresh on Friday morning. The whole family came down from Glasgow for lunch time and spent the weekend with me here - just left in fact.
Cadwell is a fantastic track, I love it. It took me quite a while to start getting my lines to the point where I felt confident in where I was placing myself, and it was only really on the last (very short) session where I really felt like I was starting to get on the pace.
When I realised that Intermediate and Advanced were in one group I asked to be moved to Novice, and while I was way faster than the general pace of Novice I'm pretty glad I did. Some of the guys in Inter/Advanced were well on it and I don't think I'd make a good chicane! Having said that by the end of the day I was lapping some of the Novices two or three times in a session.
The corners before the mountain were tighter than they ever look on TV so you do end up going up there in a fairly low gear, no surprise you wheelie! At first I found it hard to keep the throttle open, but I was getting over that by the end of the day.
The weather was fantastic, if cold in the morning, and the track was pretty grippy by mid-morning (couple of moments in the first two sessions).
Now I want to go back knowing the lines and really start working on cracking on round the track. It's a fantastic place.
