Well, I thought you'd rather come down the A68 and I know I'd rather ride up it than use the A66 and A74M/M74 route but hey, I'm up for any meet so you say where you'd rather we met taking into consideration about half way between us and the roads around that area too for a bimble about

Good stuff Russ
Let's see who commits nearer the time and we'll decide where we're going from there.

Re: Ride out 'oop' North
Now then
Anyone fancy meeting up for a cuppa and a ride this Saturday 2nd June. Thinking of setting off fairly early from Thirsk, 08:30-ish, pick up the A68 at Darlington and head North. I'll either nip across to the A7 at Hawick or maybe Galasheils and then ride the A7 South, hang a left at Longtown, through Brampton and into Alston. I'll decide when I get there which route I'll take from there.
Give me a shout

Re: Ride out 'oop' North
If the weather is good, I am going to try and get out on either Saturday or Sunday. I live next to Beamish, so was thinking of having a run down to Middleton in Teesdale and then up to Hartside before heading back towards Stanhope, but could go a different route and meet up at some point.
Let me know what your plans are closer to the weekend and I shall see what I am up to.

Re: Ride out 'oop' North
If the weather holds, I'll see you there mate. If I am not there by 10 past 10 then I won't be coming.
Where are you riding in from anyway? Are you good for the Middleton-Hartside-Stanhope circle? Also, I've only been riding for 4 years so am not the quickest yet, but when riding with faster mates they usually just get the teas in for when I get there
EDIT: Just read your other post mate. Not sure if I fancy going as far as you seem to be planning. 100 miles is usually about my limit.

Re: Ride out 'oop' North
OK Mikkel
Meeting another couple at Castleside from Shotley bridge so no pressure but if you fancy it, I'll see you there and if not, have a good ride yourself if you go out.
Don't worry about the speed Mate, We all have to ride with faster riders at some time or other and it can improve your riding if you keep within your limit's but follow lines and a short stop at junctions and roundabouts will allow us to stay together. There's no point in buggering off from someone who's out riding with you because they won't bother coming out again, the whole point of a ride out is for me is for everyone on it to enjoy it.
Cheers
