Re: Updating my RRW
Well heres how she looks now, think I have the rad lines sorted now... Just ordered some 25mm alloy tube to make some joiners.
May have to run a small secondary radiator if she runs to hot but going to try it first.. Was thinking of buying the waterless coolant but been advised to try it first with plan water with some water wetter added. Water is the the most efficient coolant and if she runs too hot its not going to cost me a fortune when I redo it with an additional rad.

Re: Updating my RRW
bad idea LC, water and Water Wetter doesn't have any corrosion inhibitors and if you add anti freeze to Water Wetter it negates the advantage of water wetter.
Water Wetter has it's place on a race bike, on a race track... where it is constantly changed and worked on etc
NOT a road bike...
and if you use water the Evans stuff will cost you a lot more as you would need to buy the water remover product.
What makes you think it is going to run hotter?

Re: Updating my RRW
Rr4 runs very hot so everyone tells me hence the huge rad. Been advised excellent as the Evans coolant is its runs slightly hotter than water and may struggle to loose the heat with my small rad. The plan will be water and wetter for testing on the road , if cools no issues then will drain and refill with Evans or regular coolant. If it runs hot or even boils over then going to have to add a secondary smaller rad.
Don't want to spend 70 quid on Evans then still run to hot and have to drain it and buy more after water system rethink.

Re: Updating my RRW
Would be interested with the results JB. It could bear out my theory why the 04-05 ran hot with the addition of the larger Rad. The infamous stator/ saga may have been a contributing factor.

Will keep you posted MB, what sort of temp does the rr4 run at any idea? And when does the fan / fans cut in?

Re: Updating my RRW
Open road with speeds of 70mph temp hovers between 83-85 with higher speeds it reada at a constant 83. In traffic the fan kicks in at 103 in bogged down traffic have seen 107 with the fan going like the clappers requiring a stop or else hoses could pop off.

Re: Updating my RRW
Well spent another hour and half in the garage tonight, soldered on the exhaust servo wiring and tucked it away. Also mounted the rear sus triangles with my Ti bolts. Also put oil in her and connected up my rear pressure operated rear brake switch and put on the sprocket cover and new HEL braided line.
Its looking like a bike now and really am very close to the fire up!!

Re: Updating my RRW
Bootiful just bootiful JB. BTW is the ECU from a 2004/5 bike??? The reason being I did an ignition advance on 2 X 2007 blades which was quite straight forward. The ECU on those models appear to have an upgrade as I had a devil of a time to sort the 2004.

Re: Updating my RRW
Thanks mique, it's a 2004 ecu and loom which from what I've discovered along my rebuild is its completely diffrent from the 2006, even has diffrent connectors!

Re: Updating my RRW
Looking great, the AR can is a very tidy piece of engineering, had a look at some at the show, saw the price tag and quickly put it back as a rrw update, which bits are left?
