Sunday 8th January 2012 - Loomies
Subject to weather - I can't get out for very long on Sunday 8th January but plan a brief visit to Loomies if anybody wants to say "Hi"

Bit too far for me but I've heard good reports of Loomies, some of my mates from GSX1400.org go there regularly

Shame it's too far for you, I know a few riders who come down from Essex to ride down south with us, so perhaps in the summer if they are coming down to ride with us you can ride down with them if you are around?
I'm sure we'll be riding up to Essex in the summer again too so will try and remember to let you know when we come up if you want to meet us if we are around.
Yes Loomies is good for both food and location. I've been going there for many years. I'll be meeting up with members of the XJR Owners Club in my "flying visit"
Everybody should be aware that you need to ride sensibly as the area is notorious for being policed by marked and unmarked Police cars and bikes. If you don't then expect to be caught. This said the roads are great and it is a trip worth making. The Police in their unmarked cars - there's at least 4 of them use Loomies to go to for their bacon sarnies.

After seeing gritters on the roads 3 weeks in a row last month I SORN'd my Honda's I thought winter was upon us......... so only have a Yamaha on the road at present.
We do quite a few runs up to Loomies, Nelson's Diner, Alton Station Cafe, there's a new cafe that's been discovered around Liphook and a few other places not far from you so hopefully we'll catch up with you soon.
Feel free to give me a nudge when you've got your bike on the road and we'll see what we can sort out.

Yeah, Alton on a Wed seems ok in the summer. Yep will hope to back on the road end of March/early April.

I haven't been to Alton on a Wednesday night for years as I get home later from work in the week these days so it's difficult to get there at a reasonable time, maybe I'll have to take an afternoon off work to get there in the summer. I've been there on a Saturday morning and it only opens on a Sunday when there is a railway event on.
Hopefully the weather will be good at the end of March / early April and we can sort something out

Hi Mique,
When the Watercress Line has a Special Event on a Sunday, the cafe is usually open: http://www.watercressline.co.uk/Events?ref=menu
That's what I was told last time I phoned the cafe about Sunday opening.
