Keep in mind to stay over night is £10 per person now.
I will try and put the day in, just to watch, but it might be to short notice.
Cadwell is brilliant, you will love it.

I'll refrain from cross country / grass excursions, fingers crossed

Re: Cadwell 23rd May
I've always had Cadwell on a pedastool & steered away from doing it but feel I'm back riding far, far better even on a new / strange bike so I'll give it a good go and hopefully carry on my pace.
Booked in to Inters and will take the first couple of sessions to really learn the circuit, never in my life been to Cadwell and seems a sizeable track so may take two or three sessions, or for me...............the whole day

Re: Cadwell 23rd May
Watch the videos to learn the basics (i.e. if it's a left or a right coming next) and enjoy the ride. Learning some basic lines will take you a couple of sessions and then you'll be fine.
Learning Cadwell properly.... well I've been there six times and I reckon I still need work on my lines.
It's a fantastic track.

Re: Cadwell 23rd May
I dont know what track day organiser your booked with, i was with Focused Events, they had 3 instructors on hand who would come out with you for a session, observe you and give you feedback / tips. Well worth using and free !

Re: Cadwell 23rd May
No Limits usually have quite a few instructors (although it depends who can make it that day) and they're very good as well as free.

We're not. We're staying at a friends near Gainsborough. We'll be at the track first thing Monday morning. Sorry mate, hadn't realised you were talking about coming to the track in the evening, I thought you were just hoping to turn up on the day.
Re: Cadwell 23rd May
No worries.
I didn't think you scots would pay the £10 camping fee.

Re: Cadwell 23rd May
WINDY there you go that about covers the day.
Kaisers new bike, is a wish list of hrc parts, all on one bike, fast with a capital aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
I wont say anything about that mountain try.
Going very well for his first day at cadwell.
Taz was going well, very smooth out on track (i didnt say slow, before you say ought. )
Shame about Grahams triumph, he was flying in the sessions i saw.
Sorry i missed the other people's names, but they were all going well, other than the high winds, people seamed to be enjoying it.
I forgot to say thank you to the lady who dished out the ham salad sandwich, it was great, thanks.
If she isnt on here, can someone say ta for me.
Ive never been to a td, with so much food about, brownies, oowww they were good, shortbread, uuummmm (homer noise).

Gear lever bust, they managed to get another one, but the triumph has a strange layout for the shifter, so it wouldn't work.

Taz's good lady made some lovely shortbread, brownies and fruit loaf but it was Taz him self doing the handing out.
Shadow - I'll pass your thanks on to Amanda, she is on the 6ers forum mate.
It was certainly a blooming windy day that started at strong & got insane up round the top part of the track when your trying to go right, the wind was lifting your front wheel while cranked over and pushing you out to the edge of the track
The bike is absolutely insane along the straight, first time I opened her up it overtook Captain Kirk at warp factor 9, then stupidly I sat up before starting the roller coaster and the wind just about tore me clean off the bike
I was a tad quiet in the morning with a vague look of shock as Taz showed me my first glimpse of Cadwell.................................I actually innocently assumed the track right outside the cafe / grandstand was the pitlane given it's width followed by the jjjeeeezzzzzzzzzzzzz, when I saw the left off the start finish straight and didn't even take in where the mountain was until later
First session i just got used to things, the bike again & a brand new, large & fairly complex circuit. I just really sat in & found my lines, braking points etc and tagged on to a few people to show me round. Second session onwards I started to become far more relaxed and started going quicker & quicker................still fighting Hurricane Cadwell up round the Goosekneck etc, (think that's what it's called).
Started getting a little bit too aggresive & either the bike or the track gave me a quick slap to keep me in line over the mountain as Shadow referred to above ...............................it was def a dyper changing moment as the wheel came up so damn fast it almost chinned me and rode past a hysterical Shadow, "CHEERS MATE"
After lunch I really started to become far, far more aggresive, so did the bike as it let canon explosions off on the over run everywhere
Started really finding lines, pace and speed although never ever took away my fear at the end of the straight with the sheer speed I got notched up, the bike wa just insane, leaving other big, fast bikes like they were standing still
Taz kindly fitted a camera to the bike & was really looking forward to try and gauge what sort of times I was managing to achieve but sadly, thats where the day ended for us all when the Hurricane Cadwell brought some dreaded rain. The wind was ban enough but mixed with rain we called it a day to live & fight another time.
Felt gutted for Graeme, he was on fire on his 675 and the lap times he was putting through just beg's belief ................Taz was as usual on fire and was there or there abouts with Graeme. take a bow

Re: Cadwell 23rd May
It was the way you managed to lift it, that far in the air, before the crest.
I was watching from the cafe, all i saw coming over the top, was the nose and front wheel of a bike, rider hanging on to the back of it somewhere.
It is massively fast, id want the optional parachute and ejector seat.
If you get a chance, look at silverstone, that thing would come into its own there.

Re: Cadwell 23rd May
I just carried way more speed that time round througjh the left, right & thought if I hold the throttle at the point I did, which was a mm past where I had before think would gain a little morte momentum and the wheel just flashed up in an instant with me holding on for grim death.
I am hoping, praying the photographer caught it on camera or my dyper change was all for nothing
I'm going to have a serious look about and note when I am free to organise another TD.

Re: Cadwell 23rd May
I just love Cadwell.
Was windy as all hell and I was already considering cutting the day short after the fifth session, having been lifted bolt upright from almost having my knee down in Charlies and then blown right to the edge of the track in Chris Curve. Too damn scary.
Before that though I was having a good day. Relearning the track for the 929, and trying a new gear change plan one of the instructors suggested: dropping two gears before Coppice rather than one for Coppice and one for Charlies. Worked really well, driving up the hill harder than before and faster into Charlies.
Kaiser's face when he saw the track was a picture, but he took to it fast and it looks like Cadwell has another addict.
The oil flag on Barn for a branch on track was funny - but Graham fixated on the branch and ran right over it. Don't know if that weakened his gear lever but it seems possible.
