50 year old photos
Decided to have a follow up to Wild Bill's posting just to have a laugh at the past.
The photo taken 1962 Spalding on my first bike 1961 Triumph Tiger Cub 200cc.
Soon progressed onto a Triumph Bonneville which was heavily modified and went to the
TT for 6 consecutive yeras, surprised to see I had hair on the old barnet.
As the years rolled on went into the classis bike scene.
Pictured is a 1964 5TA Speed Twin 500cc
1958 5TA Speed Twin 500cc which I still have
1962 T100 SS 500cc
Bought my first blade in 1992 then followed up with the 1995
Here with the 92 blade camping at the Spa Francochaphs circiut.
Riding the 95 blade.
On the 95 blade on the way down to Jerez GP in 1996
Two of my heroes at the Festival of Thousand bikes at Mallory
Randy Mamola and John (moon eyes) Cooper
Here in 2000 Phillip Island for the WSB which was won by Gobert the second race put paid to Foggys career after he belted Rober Ulm up the backside.
Here is Colin Edwards, the other shot is Frankie boy and Paola Casoli
.
Had a get together with some old timers and had a dam good laugh.

Re: 50 year old photos
The TT was probably in it's heyday during the sixties. It was not just the bike maufacturers but also people like Girling, Ferodo, Reynolds plus others who were not there solely for the races but the likes of the ordinary biker where I got a new set of pistons from Triumph Engineering fitting and timing was free, a mate got a free Girling suspension just because he was tinkering all spares were dished out like sweeties. Them days are now gone.

Re: 50 year old photos
Nice pics you have there.
I had a 1959 3TA many yrs ago, sadly it was in a bad state when I got it, so took a long time to put it on the road. Don't have any pics tho.

Re: 50 year old photos
Thanks Dave. On reflection where did I find the balls to throw up a high paid and stressful job at 50 and take a government early retirement package is beyond me. Glad I did coz I spent the next ten years doing as many MGPand WSBK with another colleague and seriously considered going to India and onto OZ before Nick Sanders.

Re: 50 year old photos
Funny nobody yet has asked me about the Bonnie'
Tank strapped up, yellow bodged seat, dented silencer and missing timing cover. Simple went off at Governors Bridge thinking I was Percy Tait.
That bike was fast with an 8valve Weslake/ Nourrish head, a pukka works close ratio box with IOM gearing it did 101mph in first had to have the Boyer transistor ignition as the standard unit was not able to cope with the amount of advance.
