Opinions please
Hello peeps! I'm in the process of finishing the zx7r so I can sell it, I managed to find a chap who will respray it for me at a very good price (he does a crackin job too) so I'm considering spend out a little to hopefully get back a little. At the moment it has a bit od a crazy paint job & I'm not sure if it will apeal to the masses SO I thinking of getting all the bodywork resprayed gloss black, I was watching moto gp2 earlier & spotted a nice MZ with a green frame & thought that might look smart too!
Do you think it looks alright as it is or respray it gloss black with some decals too maybe & also get the frame & swingarm resprayed green too or shall I leave it as it is???
Here's how it's looking now

Thanks mate, it's a bit in yer face isn't it!
I got to watch myself as I have a tendency of getting carried away!
So give the frame a miss, what about the wheels & footrest's? I was thinking of getting them done black too

Re: Opinions please
I just bought a slightly damaged scorpion carbon race can for it (easy repair!) which was dirt cheap & will improve on the looks too!

Re: Opinions please
Go for all black mate.
I wouldn't paint the frame, people will think its to hide something.

Re: Opinions please
If its not much more to get the wheels done, then I would go for it,I like clean wheels, makes me think its been looked after.
I think its hard not to get carried away, the problem is if you are adding value/appeal or not.
The scorpion sounds good mate.

Thanks for the input mate! It sounds like black is a winning colour!
Very true about the frame, I hadn't thought of that!

Ok wheels too it is then, shouldn't be to much more, I like clean wheels too
I get very carried away, have you seen the punisher?
I want to spend a little to add value & appeal but not get to carried away spending to much on it, yeah I think the newer can will look much better than the one on there & I should be able to sale the old one for the same as I paid out for the replacement can.

Re: Opinions please
hmm....
I'd put it on ebay with the reserve you want.
if it doesn't reach the reserve I'd paint the panels and tank
why spend cash before you know if its not gonna sell.
for the sake of a week on ebay...I'd save the cash, someone might love it!
and the cash saved from not painting it adds to the profit/bottom line

You can't say better than that Griz....don't paint the frame either, it will look suspicious.

Yep I hear ya guys & it makes a lot of sense!
I've still got to mot it & give it a proper clean up before I can put it up for sale.
Right now I would just like to sale it as it is & add the funds to the 'new bike basket' & go buy myself some new wheels, but a big part of me thinks it needs a mot & a lick of paint to generate more interest/more bidders & hopefully bring me in some much needed extra new bike funds.
The paint job will set me back about £100 & then the cost of the mot on top, so not a real lot to pay out on the chance of increasing it's value.

Re: Opinions please
why not post it up and say it can be sprayed black for an extra 150 quid??
both options covered.
I reckon anyone buying a fighter will want to fettle it themselves anyway

Re: Opinions please
GREEN has always been MZ's colour long before your Kawa.
This company were the forerunners of 2 stroke technology which eventually found its way to Japan by a defector from MZ.
Stick with gun metal grey like Megawatta which really is a blue!!!!!!!

Thanks for the info Mick
You know what I'm like, I see something I think looks cool & just go with it!
I've just listed it up on ebay as it is & will stick a MOT on it in the week & will respray the bodywork if someone hates the colours

Re: Opinions please
You could always give it the ZX10 treatment? ......Engine + running gear.
It is still one of the best handling chassis out there, and will easily out handle a ZX12r - but you'll match the power

Yeah thought about that when I first bought it.
The zx9 B1 & B2 engines are a straight swap more or less but the zx10 treatment would be a altogether different story
What with everything going on right now I can't be arsed & just want something I can ride.
