Hello mate!!!
I race my 954rr, it's not roadstock spec so i'm not too sure what you can and can't do to suspension etc.
As far as gearing for mallory, is it the old circuit they run, or the BSB circuit. If its the BSB one, then I would imagine you would want it pretty short as there is no real straight of any significance.
Let me know what spec you can run, as my blade runs a 'SuperStock' type spec with a standard motor!!!!

EMRA only race at Mallory don't they??
I only ever raced CB500's and CBR600's at Mallory so can't help with gearing.
sure EMRA have a forum somewhere. they help you out I'm sure
can't stand mallory myself...shit hole death trap...but hey, what do I know
whatever you do..go fast, but go steady matey

Re: any one here race a blade or trackday one
, race pipes allowed, no rearsets or quickshifters, thats about all the rules state apart from having matching engine and frame numbers and a v5,
what do you mean by short? i presume low, what front and rear sprockets do you think?
as far as it being a death trap luckily i have never been round any track so i should be ok, i will leave the heroics to my mate who is planning on doing it on his triumph
they do a round at darley moor as well, pretty good for me as a skint beginner as mallory is only a couple of miles away

Re: any one here race a blade or trackday one
Hi WRS,
I would definatley consider getting your suspension setup, as I assume it has to be standard. A setup will go a very long way, you won't believe how quick;y you will find the boundaries of a road setup, no matter how fast you are!!!!
As far as gearing, I would drop at least 1 off the front and go up 2 on the rear. Thats what I run round Oulton Park and I still think it could be a bit shorter, but its comfortable, and thats the main thing!!!!

Darley is even worse...shit hole of a track!
raced it once...never went back...shite and dangerous.
I've seen too many mates die at tracks ( 2 at Mallory) to know wher I'd rather spend my time.
I'd take 'dangerous' cadwell over Mallory any day of the week. Even tho I lost 2 mates there too...plus other guys who I raced with.
and you'll learn more by doing a proper track..
mallory is a carpark with a paddock.
sorry...
whatever you do...take care .

Re: any one here race a blade or trackday one
on a positive tip,....
daz speaks the truth...theres no point having power if it can't be laid down
standard bikes are set for roads and pillions..
re spring the front and rear...
I did it when I started racing CBR6's ..went 2 seconds a lap quicker the very next lap!
and all the other lads will have done it!
