Each year a few of us from Sunderland go to Fort William in May and stay 3 nights. We do Oban & Glencoe 1 day, then a north run up the A82 - A87 then just after Dornie onto A890 A832 then back down past loch ness.
Did Mallaig 1 yr after we'd arrived just for a quick ride out, nice road, but we made the mistake of parking just outside the local nick, and the beat bobby stopped for a chat. What a boring fart he was/is. Mustn't have talked to anyone in yrs!

We have some good roads over on the east coast, but the west coast is soooooo much better (apart from the midgies evil )

Everyone who comes up here has to get in the road to Applecross....it's an experience you might not ever forget Twisted Evil Laughing

Hopefully we'll (chilli) will get a Scotland rideout planned for summer thumbup wheeliebike

and give Mr Plod some new roads (ideas).

Yip i have had a few good runs up north over the years, I hooked up with some lads that were doing the Landsend to J.O.G staying of the motorways as much as poss, meet them in Perth then up the Spittal of Glenshee, over the Grampion mountains on to the Tomintoul road to Nairn Inverness then up the A9 to Thurso, next morning back down to Inverness and down the west coast to sunny Ayrshire. Had a Skye weekend in September and the weather was first class, a few of the mates went to Stormin the castle the same weekend and got washed out ...lol.

ROLL ON SUMMER sunny

I take it when you left Applecross you never took the same road you came up on??
The back road takes you right up the coast past Ullapool and then you can do the full loop up and over to the east coast and back down to Inverness.
From there go towards Nairn and then take the Grantown on Spey road.
From Grantown you can go over the Lecht towards Ballater an then you go over the Spittle of Glen shee to Blairgowrie and take the road to Crieff.
At Creiff you can stop off at the Famous Grouse distillery, from Crieff you can please yourself where you go from there LOL
Well that's my suggestion anyway.
