Re: My 94 Streetfighter Project
Hi all, I made myself some risers out of some alloy tube & a pair of heavy duty downhill mountian bike handle bar stems, it cost me about £35 in total. I can't fit the standard type of risers on my bike due to the tank skin being so big, I needed ones that would push the handlebars further away from the tank & to get a special made top yoke was way out of my budget.
Its a bit of a different look, what do you think?

Its a bit different isn't it, can't say I've seen it done before either. I was in halfords buying a few bits & spotted some clamps which gave me the idea. It was a bit of a result as I was a bit stumped before hand how get the bars further way from the tank.

Re: My 94 Streetfighter Project
Hi all I thought I'd post up some more progress. I changed my mind about using the 999 headlight frame & I'm now just going to use the projector lamps inside, I made some brackets & had a quick fit up..
Here it is.
I then also had a little play with the standard levers, what do you think?

Re: My 94 Streetfighter Project
I did a bit more work today, I removed the fairing stay mounts & also removed the steering stops off of the lower yoke as I need to weld some new ones to match up with the blade frame & then I went on to remove the frame from the engine.
I've just got a whole load of degreasing to do now to get my parts ready for powder coating, so all being well I'll get all the parts to them before christmas

Re: My 94 Streetfighter Project
Ok another update, after much hard work I at long last took the rest of my parts to the powder coaters & picked up my completed wheels!
Before
After....
There darker than I could get the camera to show, more of a dark claret & just the colour I was looking for. I'm a bit fed up though as they couldn't get the trye to go up on both sides of the rim! as there air pump topped out at 120lbs, I took the wheel to another garage & they couldn't get it to pop up neither & wouldn't go any higher than 100lbs of presure, so now I need to find somewhere that has the balls to get some air into the thing!!!
& here's the other parts I took to the powder coaters today.

Re: My 94 Streetfighter Project
Looks like a fine job.
For your tyre, what about someone that works on trucks, the standard on some of them is 100 psi, so they should be able to give it the beans on your one.
