Re: Morphs Rideout 28th September
Hello,
Dont know if you know who I am, I am Morph's (Ali's) friend, the one that posted on the forum about the funeral arrangments. I also had the privilage of reading a tribute at his funeral.
I also managed to arrange some bikers to ride out behind his hurse.
(bigtone hello m8, I know.. you know who I am. :-) )
Anyway, the reason for this email is to firstly say...........You little beauties. Morph would be dancing right now if he could see how much you guys thought of him.
There is a few things I thought would be usefull to pass on, oh and also some questions. Lastly there is a very special bit of news that I must tell you all about.
Usefull things
Morphs mum wants to see you off, I will bring his dog smokey aswell, I will be in my land rover and will give his mum a lift. Champagne bottle against one of your petrol tanks was mentioned but I drank the last bottle of Don P 1934 last night... :-)
(By the way bigtone, thanks for the offer of a seat on the back of your bike m8.......if It had been just me wanting to be a part of all this then I would have ripped your arm off. (its not obvious that I havent got the balls for it is it :-) ) no seriously I would have jumped at the chance but his mum said she would love to see you guys leaving and be a part of it all.
We could even catch you up at maderia drive (wherever that is) and share a 99 with you guys. (Is it anywere near the nudy beach lol.)
I saw a few guys chatting on the forum about the route.......questions were raised as to weather or not London to Brighton would be to his liking.....well all I can say is this, He liked to keep things as simple and straight forward as possible, he also had a trip of a lifetime in a RAF Merlin helicopter and flew to london ....infact he flew over london, down the thames and over wembley.....so London is as fitting as it gets. (Point of interest, I tried every air base in the Uk asking if we could have a ride in a helicopter and they all said "oooh no way not after 9/11 etc etc......so I only wrote a letter to ......wait for it!!....THE GRAND WING COMMANDER OF THE QUEENS HELICOPTER FLEET......hehe.....he phone me up a few days later, he sounded like that bloke off the fast show who says "I was ve ve very drunk at the time" , anyway he said no problem at all. GET IN!!!! I thought. The Merlin Pilot took us down the entire length of the thames, over the london eye, millenium dome, thames barrier, over the new wembley, he hovered over the houses of parliment for ages.
Anyway I digress.
He used to hang out at a local bike club in berinsfield/dorchester so I will put a poster up to let them know there is a London/Brighton ride out in his name happening.
A FEW QUESTIONS
I got a bit confused when I read the forum stuff..........How many bike clubs are involved? Is there any contact details for the other clubs, maybe websites/forums or email.
Is it ok if I bring his mum and his dog see you guys off?
Not sure who is the Contact/organiser...is it NuttyTart?
Special News
As you may or may not know, morph....when he wasnt tearing tarmac off the road with his beast of a bike was a keane fisherman, he had a favourite spot in abingdon where he used to fish. Its down in a really picturesque park by the abingdon marina. Anyway to cut a long story short I made a few phone calls and have managed to arrange it for a Memorial Park Bench to be built with a plaq on it .....right on that very same spot that he has fished all these years.........also DATE FOR YOUR DIARIES........(oh and a funny story) .......I phoned the thames water authority and asked if we could sprinkle his ashes in the thames, in the spot he used to fish (in front of his forthcoming bench) they said this (this is the funny bit)
"THE WATERWAYS ACT OF 1397 STATES QUITE CLEARLY THAT THIS KIND OF THING IS COMPLETELY PROHIBITED AND AGAINST EVERY RIVER BYLAW".........................................then they said....................................."mind you ...we are quite sympathetic to these things and what we dont know about we dont care about.... :-) :-) :-).................REEEEEESULT lol.
FUNDRAISING...........WE STILL NEED TO RAISE £200 TOWARDS THE COST OF THE MEMORIAL BENCH.......ANY IDEAS
I will post this on the forum aswell
All the best you guys
Kind regards
Ian (gusintheuk)
