Ride out to CMC Chesterfield - Sat 9th March 2013
Now then
I've arranged a ride out to CMC motorbike shop in Chesterfield this Saturday. Now it looks like it's gonna rain, so all those with bikes made of sugar look away now Ok, theweather may not be brilliant but you only live once, it's not a rehearsal
One Guy's coming from Oxford, others from Lancashire, Yorkshire, Merseyside, so anyone who fancies it, get yourself out and come for a chat, coffee, bacon sarnie etc. I'm meeting three or four lads at the Woodall Motorway services, southbound 08:30-08:45, quick smoke then riding to CMC for 09:30.

Now then
Ste txt to see if I was still going because it was shit outside and when i said I was he said "We must be ferkin mad, see you there"
It was pissing down when I set off just after 07:30 but the temperature was ok, not too cold. As I approached Woodall it got very cold all of a sudden .
I waited at Woodall Services to see if anyone was gonna turn up and no one had by 08:55. I quickly checked the site on my phone, good job I did, Fran13 (Dave) had posted he would meet me there so I hung about another few minutes and low and behold he turned up
We set off in the rain and rode the 30 odd miles to CMC. It was quiet and we sat down and had a breakfast
Ste turned up about 10 o'clock, and had a sarnie as we chatted.
We had a walk around the shop and it was a bit busier now. They had a Honda NR750 on a stand with a fizzie and a Duc 916. They only made 300 NR's and I've never seen one in the flesh. Probably worth £85,000 - £1000,000 It's on loan to them by the owner, brave man.
I treat myself to a class Rossi t-shirt
We had a look in the discount shop too but bought no more. None of us had to be home early so we had a ride to Matlock Bath.
We had a drink and I had a fish, no chips to keep my food intake up
We said goodbye to Ste who headed west and Dave and I headed North. It was very wet now and the spray was poor on the M1 but we kept a good 80-85 mph pace. Dave peeled off to Wakefield and I ploughed on home. I'd gone onto reserve but thought I'd just get home, mmmm, not quite, she spluttered to a halt on a roundabout 3 miles from home but there is a petrol station right on the roundabout so pushed her in and put 20,74 litres in her Home for 16:35, bike into the garage and I made myself a hot chocolate to warm up
It was poor weather but so glad I went today, still grinning from ear to ear from being on the bike and meeting Mates
to Dave and Ste for turning out on a crappy day
