Ace Cafe Fireblade Day 2011
Ive Just been looking on the Ace Cafe calendar for 2011, and the Fireblade Day is going to be Sunday 3rd July .
A good day out this year, and it was nice to meet up with so many FBR members, maybe we can organise a rideout after next years event?

Its the biggest event in the uk on that weekend, so yes they will.
Also its in the south, so not all that far from the ace.
Jenson Button, Lewis Hamilton, Sir Jackie Stewart and John Surtees, Mark Webber, Nico Rosberg and Bruno Senna.
Emerson Fittipaldi, Mika Hakkinen, John Surtees, Sir Stirling Moss, Jochen Mass and Patrick Tambay.
Giacomo Agostini, Kevin Schwantz, Chaz Davies, Neil Hodgson and Trevor Nation, Dougie Lampkin.
Michael Waltrip and three-time Indy 500 victor Bobby Unser.
Thats who is confirmed as going already.
Need i say more ?

Re: Ace Cafe Fireblade Day 2011
The Ace as a venue was shyte anyway, way over priced food and drink and as for the rolling road at £30 a go well!
I say lets have fireblade day at Boxhill, at least we'll be able to afford a burger. and chose the date to suit us.
All those in favour?

I am interested in rideouts, piss ups, barbies and talkin bikes. I proposed this last year, loads of interest initially, but then nobody turned up on the weekend, so somebody else organise summat next year and I'll think about turning up???

I am up for meeting for a Fireblade Day as I couldn't make the one this year and even better next year I will have a Blade, fingers crossed but I am also up for meeting wherever, chatting, eating, drinking, laughing and joking but mainly riding and then talking about the buzz.

thats a good idea but i think the problem is that people come from far away and dont have anywhere to stay. They dont know their way around well enough to be able to meet up too. i certainly dont
i was just lucky mique offered to put me up.

It will probably end up being another one day affair, with people travelling all day to meet up for a couple of hours and then go home. Personally I am not interested in another one day meet, I wanna make a weekend of it!!!
I totally agree its a long ride down, need time to recharge the batteries with a few pints and a pound of meat off the bbq, then have a good ride out the next day, sounds good to me !!!!!!

I think he means make a weekend of it, rather than one day, as it simply isnt worth traveling for just one day.

Re: Ace Cafe Fireblade Day 2011
The whole idea of a Fireblade meet is to arrange a location to meet chat eat drink and admire other Blades isn't it? Arranging a Fireblade meet or a national Fireblade rideout are two different things i think, it's just not practical to go on a rideout with that many bikes unless a meeting place is arranged then a route to another destination needs to be planned so everyone can take the same route when we inevitably get split up.
Don't get me wrong Megawatt i like a rideout just as much as the next man but i think rideouts are much better when it's a small group of bikes (under 10) rather than 100's.
As i said before tho, i'm easy and will go with the majority whatever happens.
Maybe put it to the vote? Big ride big meet or big both???

Maybe a Saturday meet up and BBQ drinks etc and a planned "long" ride to another destination on the Sunday, best of both then?

Re: Ace Cafe Fireblade Day 2011
The best rideouts ive been on, have been 5 or less bikes.
These massive ones sound a good idea, but i wouldn't be interested, as ive never enjoyed being on one.
Trouble is you start talking about full weekends and its just the expense and free time, that will put people off.
I don't know what to suggest.
Perhaps a load of smaller local meets ?
Then if someone wants to make the trip over, so be it.
Mind, if the midlands gets to busy, we will get called a clique again.

Re: Ace Cafe Fireblade Day 2011
Thats easier to do, to make it worth while, choose a date with 2 days back to back, that way if people only want to do one day then fair enough.
Beer and banter in the paddock the night before is compulsory.
With no limits, if 10 or more book, you get 10% off.
So say one at donnington, then later at rockingham ?
Put brands in there to, Mega likes that track.
With donnington being the main one ?
Or even silverstone ?
Easy for me to say i did 8 last year.

Rockingham then, its the cheapest of the above, is central and a brilliant track.
Dates are up already, no prices yet.
