Is anyone doing Silverstone on Monday the 20th of July
Hi all,
As a present for my birthday my lovely girlfriend has decided to buy me a track day as a pressie!!
It will be at Silverstone on the above date as that is near my folks and we are planning on paying a visit while back in the area.....
Just thought I would see if anyone here will be going as it would be good to put faces to names!!
Thanks,
James.

Not doing it.
Shadows right, it's a bloody fast track. Will take you a bit of time to get used to the speed there.

Re: Is anyone doing Silverstone on Monday the 20th of July
Ah man. WHAT a day!! Indeed it is a very fast track
I went into the intermediate 1 group and it was fantastic!!!! I had a marshall join me for one of the sessions and he said that I was getting the bike over as far as I wanted to - it was on this lap that I ground the pegs out (hero blobs removed) and it got a bit twitchy
He said that I need to get off the bike more as I was getting my knee down without hanging off - oops!!!
ha ha ha
Sweet.
I'm going to try and upload a couple of pics but off out in a bit for a few birthday drinks
Justa brilliant day and the weather held out so it made it even sweeter as it rained heavily both sides of the day. Nice.
James.

Oh no - you've got the trackday bug, I bet you have started looking at the tyre warmers!!!
I really like Silverstone, get booked into Donington before they change it forever - I have got Cadwell Park next Monday - come on!
Regards,
Russ

Can you read minds Russ!?!? Tyre warmers would be later on the list as I need to sort the suspension out before that sort of thing! Anyway, a couple of laps and they are good to go!!
I've done Donnington but I didn't know they were going to change it!!!! When is this happening????
Not done Cadwell but would love to! I hope you have a good day and I'm sure you will!! You'll have to get some pics up too so we can see how you got on
Shadow - hope your not planning on using said service?????

Excellent pictures!
You're not wrong about getting the bike over, definitely time to get your upper body off the bike before you roll off your tyres!

Re: Is anyone doing Silverstone on Monday the 20th of July
As they have taken the F1 gig from Silverstone they have to make the Donington track longer to meet regulations. The work has already started, they have removed the Dunlop bridge and put a tunnel in between Macleans and Coppice so that you can get to the in field.
Have a look at this, it shows the new layout!: -

Re: Is anyone doing Silverstone on Monday the 20th of July
Thanks TazFiend!! I think your right and no one wants to be rolling of their tyres!?!!!?
For sure Daz! Not sure I can show you where your going wrong (if you are even going wrong!) but it's different on the track as you don't have to worry about anything else about you except other riders and they are supposed to let you have the line if your already there.... DEF up for a blat though!!!!
Cheers Russ - after you posted your comment I looked at the Donington Park website and they have the same plan up there now. Not too sure how I feel about that but I will try and get booked in before they make the changes as DP is my FAVOURITE track so far!!!
