Assen TT 2012
Would anyone be interested in going to Assen for the Moto GP in 2012?
I have been for the past 3 years and love it.
Cheers, Paul

Could be a possibility, be good to go with someone who knows the score already.

Re: Assen TT 2012
I would plan on getting the ferry from Harwich to Hoek van Holland and staying in Groningen using a b&b through the following site:
www.bedandbreakfast.nl
Logies have two rooms and Carla is very nice and welcoming but there are many on the site or hotels or hostels in Groningen.
I will not camp or stay in Assen as it goes mad over the Moto GP weekend.
Obviously you can go through the tunnel but the journey from Calais is long and boring or there is Ramsgate to Ostend which I have not done before so can't comment.
Tickets for the event are best bought from the circuit online for race day and from the circuit on the other days.

I hope to have all of you with me as next season will be even better than this imho.

Re: Assen TT 2012
It is a great circuit for racing and has a good atmosphere although not quite as good as Le Mans Moto GP events imho.
Both Le Mans and Assen get you very close to the action though and I'm sure my hearing isn't what it once was but you get to see, hear and feel the action going on much nicer than watching it on tv.
Just an afternoon in the main start/finish grandstand at Le Mans or Assen and you will wonder why you didn't go before.

Re: Assen TT 2012
Don't know if i'm off for this or not this year.
I've stayed here; http://www.bikemotel.nl/ if I remember correctly, it's an old buddy of Chilli who runs it 'Lisa and her dutch husband'.
It's closer than Groningen and safer to park up your bikes.
There's a small outside swimming pool and the garage has almost everything you next incase your bike has an issue.
If you have a flat and need a new tyre or you've broken down, call the motel and they'll sort out something for you and you don't pay the STUPID money others will take off you.
Downside is; there's nothing really in the town :0(

Re: Assen TT 2012
I've done the San Marino moto GP for the last few years, I fly fly in to Bologna but last year we bumped in to some guys who rode the 1000 miles or so down from blighty.
As well as the racing you have the ducati factory in bolgona; ferrari and lamborgini are just down the road as well and you also get loads and loads of hot chicks on scooters.
Stay in Cattolica and they run free shuttle buses to the circuit and you can walk to the hotel.
