Snetterton 300 two day trackdays, 28/29th September
I am doing this trackday in September. It's on a Wednesday and Thursday with a hog roast and camping included. It's £140 all in for 2 days!!! You will have to join this club for £20,www.omcc.co.uk , download application forms and pay soon. The last time I checked there were still spaces available. Would be nice to see some of you guys again, even as spectators???

Re: Snetterton 300 two day trackdays, 28/29th September
Got some of my notes, if your board and need to fall to sleep.
This is on the r6, with crosser gearing, so it might be different on a bigger bike.
Start\finish up to 5th, brake at red curb, down to 4th, carry maintenance throttle throughout, try to stay to the inside, not letting the bike, run wide to early, as its comes back again, then let it run out.
Heavy breaking for the hairpin, i used 2nd, late apex to fire it out the other side, get straight to the right hand side for the next one, thats 3rd gear, almost blind entry, start to drive it out, at the green curb, down to the next hairpin again 2nd, patience with the gas here, very easy to end up wide, shortshift to 3rd, then with a sniff of break throw it into hamiltons (i like that one) bringing it straight back to the left side ready for the double apex take the first section in 2nd, short shift to 3rd, ready for the Bentley straight, r6 on limiter down here, corner at the end is superb, down 2 gears and throw it in, down another 2, throw it right, you will think your to hot in, but you wont be, because of the high speed of the previous area, it makes you think it is narrow, when actually, it isnt, through to the bombhole, i used 4th through here, still driving all the way through, corams is a long corner, you need to start braking, while still cranked over, but counter steer it, to stop it sitting up because of the brakes, use 2nd for the chicane, be patience with the gas here, no end of bikes, take to the grass on the exit, being greedy with it.
Invoice in the post mate.

Re: Snetterton 300 two day trackdays, 28/29th September
Well, got back from Snett at 2100 yesterday. WOW, what a fantastic 2 days. 24degrees on Wednesday and 26 yesterday. Had the coolbox plugged in our garage, great food , beer and company. Managed to overtake a few people in novices class and nearly got rid of the chicken strips on my new Michelin Pilot Tour rear and nearly destroyed the pilot power on the front. Had a moment in the 3rd session when some tvat overtook me at Corum with only a 2ft gap and then whilst nailing it on the pit straight, something glanced off my right knee. I looked down at 120mph and the crash bung had disappeared!!! This unsettled me for the rest of that session and when I pulled in it was worse! The right hand top rear engine bolt had sheared off!!! We did find the R&G and the bolt, but I will be spending some time removing the broken stud from the engine! Here's a few pix;
The last one has another Nutty Tart, from Folkestone, on her CBR1000RR08 Blade looking over my shoulder!!!

Thanks JT, it was fantastic weather and what a great track. Hopefully will drill out the broken stud this week and buy replacement M10 bolts. At least we found the slightly scratched mushroom!!!

Re: Snetterton 300 two day trackdays, 28/29th September
Can highly recommend it mate. Lovely smooth surface and some really fast bends. Oggies and Nelson are the trickiest and Corum goes on forever until a quick flip at Murrays and the pit straight. Gonna book for next year as well!!!
