Brands Hatch Empty Brands Hatch

Post by masterblader Wed 01 Jun 2011, 22:52

Had a call from Blade Hog he was at Brands doing a track day the weather being so good it was sinful to be bogged down in the garage so popped in only 4 miles away.
He and PC were the only members doing the Indy circuit so after 2 sessions I left and hope the two had a good day with no mishaps.

Left Brands and off to Scottys gaff for a quick chat and met up with Hellrazzer and his son Leon after a good old chin wag Hellrazzer and self went to Machine Mart in Croydon and got some bits and bobs for the garage. Got home and found Busaboy and his mate Al waiting outside the garage to have a brew lo and behold Hellrazzer also turned up another chin wag endured until we ran out of milk. After they all departed just flaked out on the couch after a 10 hour stint.

Thanks for coming down to Brands MB me and PC had a great day.

Only about 55 bikers showed up so it was only two groups, dam it was in then back out had to sit a few out.
Well most did and the last 20 mins I had brands Indy to myself for two laps then other two riders joined me.
PC was finding the going hard too only going out for 10 mins at a time, at least I was going out for 15 most times Smile
There again PC was riding like a nutter 155mph then braking for paddock hill, no wonder he ripped his rear tyre to bits.

Real good day in all, a track and a lot of track time and a bit of a tan from the sunny

PC m8 did not rate his new Scorpion race system on his GSRX 750 that much, not to sure why not?

Carbon fibre ? tongue

The white is the wadding used to reduce sound.

That looks like it has spilt at the rivets, pulling the end cap off, normally that happens, when running a baffle, as the back pressure increases, putting load on that area.

Your right it came off at the rivets and I guess that the baffle poking out the small part, by the way you say it your making it sound like it happens a lot!
That was all new and just mapped the place that fitted it all will replace it.

As for the track Brands is good but I do think Mallory park was a bit better, still easy to over do it at brands, plus keep a tight line coming on to the straight.
The More out you are coming out of clear ways the more bumps your find wanting to kick you back side out.

Also just a quick on broad vid two laps with PC and two laps with me, Just a warning the view on my two laps is not a great one.

Looks like a good day. Smile

Yeah ive seen the exhaust blow the end off, like that before, always on quiet days running a baffle.
On v twins it can literally blow the whole exhaust apart, seen that on a ducati at snetterton.

Are you heading back to mallory ?
I need to do my yearly visit. Smile
Haven't been since it was resurfaced. :(
