Another vote for Scotland.

Just make sure you spend some time in the Lakes and Northumberland before crossing the border. You will love the roads up here, although your tyres will object. eyebrow

North wales, around Dolgellau (great B&B called Bikers Retreat!) and Machynlleth, and all around Snowdonia area. Just brilliant and lots of options from their...Brecons, or lake district etc.... Just a thought and Scotland seems to be getting the vote at the moment....

Agreed, but having then visited my sister in Aboyne....The roads are another level up... Some of the best roads I have driven on and thats including the Black Forest roads and the Austrian mountains and around the French Alps...They compare very favourably.

we'll thanks very much for the kind words mate, though i do know my home roads quite well, i've also had a few rides down south dance1 ..the lakes and wales having some of the best roads ive come across so i can agree with whats being said for places to go. But i do have to say that Scotland does have the best in the uk as far as im concerned, east or west coast, you'll be hard pushed on all of them...so if you make it up here, then dont leave your balls at home! rofl

some of these roads should see you happy drool

On the 30st of August 2008 the dutch Honda CBR club is trying to get a post in the Guiness Book of World Records for the longest queue of CBR riders.

The location is Culemborg (near Utrecht) and preparations are already underway.

It would be nice if we could welcome CBR riders from abroad.
There is a possibillity to stay overnight on a campsite.

Posting will start as of february 1st at www.cbrclub.nl

Been to Normandy for the past 3 years for 2 1/2 days of balls out, awesome riding in the Normandy countryside. No cameras, hardly any cops or cars. Lovely people and a superb 1/2 board base. Not cheap , but the best ridin I've ever done.

Tour suggestions Empty Normandy Trip

Post by Guest Tue 22 Jan 2008, 05:00

we booked with www.bikenormandy.com based near Vimoutier, Normandy. Basically it's at the head of the Falaise Gap, a beautiful area with a hellish history at the end of the Battle of Normandy in 1944. You can book 2 or 3 nights, BnB, fantastic evening meal and as much as you can drink. We normally cross to Calais and ride down to near Rouen to meet John and Jen Eggleton, your guides, for lunch. Then it's a fast blast through the countryside to Vimoutier and a fabulous dinner and drinks. After breakfast it's all day riding some blinding D roads with a couple of stops for coffee and lunch. The riding is as fast as you want to go and NOBODY has passed Jen yet on her Fireblade. She is the BEST. Same again next day and then find yer own way back to Calais. Cost is £239 for 2 nights, about £285 for 3, plus the ferry or train costs. It may sound a lot but just think, you don't have to look at a map, there is an experienced rider in front and behind you at all times, they speak the lingo and the accomodation is first class. I've been 3 times and enjoyed every minute.
