Keyless Ignition/ Ignition advancer
Two questions
Anybody fitted a keyless ignition to thier blade? wheres the best place to get a simple card/fob system? does anybody have any experience with them?
Looking at a ignition advancer on the rrw anybody got one fitted? is it a worthwhile mod? or should i start with a carb kit?
Cheers
Simon

Re: Keyless Ignition/ Ignition advancer
Have seen a blade fitted with one was more of a novelty issue than a pratical one. Many bikers park their bikes in gear the starter fob in your pocket could lend itself to be accidentally activated like the datatool fobby. The prop stand kill switch however should stop that possibilty.
Igntion advancers from FactoryPro come in 2 or 4 degrees for your blade, fitting the 4 degree advancer would make the engine rev like a 600, rolling off the throttle the revs drop just as quick thus reducing the loading time on the front end. When fitted it's advisable
to disconnect the throttle response switch on the carbs. Good luck SR

Keyless Ignition/ Ignition advancer
Cheers Master B
Its got to be practical and a bit trick , i dont have a working key so was wanting a card or chip type to ensure its not being started unless im sat on it! and i could use the ignition barrel space for a cigarette lighter or one of those flower holders like a VW beetle
A guy ive spoken to converted a system from maplins so gonna start looking.
Anybody got a ignition advancer for sale before i start looking???
Cheers

Re: Keyless Ignition/ Ignition advancer
Intending to do an article in Tech Section in how to modify the standard igniton rotor to advance the ignition. Have to put this on hold as I've lost the tool bar to paste the pictures.
The Factory Pro advancers are around £50

Cheers Guys
Will keep a eye out for that thread Master very useful and i aint to bad with the hacksaw now
Again, thanks Mr Watt dont want the push button bit as i could see that being a little iffy if it got pressed in pocket and disarmed mid corner but could make something from that im sure, maplins have the same/similar thing just a bit dearer (as usual)

Re: Keyless Ignition/ Ignition advancer
The throttle response switch where fitted advances the igniton briefly for standing start acceleration only, with a 4deg: rotor fitted this would take the static timing to over 14 degrees so there might be some fluffiness from 1200-1500 revs after that its clean. Blades engines become flame throwers on the overrun at 14.9 deg:anto300zx wrote:iv fitted the 4 deg factory pro and was very happy with the result would defo recomend it,i didnt disconect the trottle response switch doh what does that do when disconnected ? ?

Re: Keyless Ignition/ Ignition advancer
if your still looking for a keyless ignition try this
http://www.tobefast.com/arse-recognition-system-c-63430-p-1-pr-2395230.html
its a neat little toy with a card and an antenna that goes into the seat. it reads the card up to 12 inchs away. just sit on the bike and start it up and ride away.

Re: Keyless Ignition/ Ignition advancer
i have got this on my bike, (well a slightly older version)
i love it, its a remote start so i dunno if its what your looking for.
they send bike specific instruction too. i managed to wire mine up with the universal instruction tho so it cant be that hard
the only problem i have with the remote start is that the choke needs to be on when its cold and my bloody choke is rubbish!

Thats the same make as my alarm emobilizer but I didnt get the remote start connected.
I just use the emobilizer to turn the ignition on and off. I put the fob in a pocket on its own. Even the key for the fuel cap will go soon (Oberon fuel cap), then I'll be truely keyless.
I cant start the bike but with me being such a 'Dizzy Blonde' at times that's a good thing

Re: Keyless Ignition/ Ignition advancer
you should connect it up mate its good fun, ive wired up a switch so that when i turn it on it doesnt turn over the engine and just turns on the ignition, just incase i dont want to remote start it. it is great when people walk past it and you turn it on they get proper confused

I'd want a remote throttle too so I could 'Blip' the gas as if I was sat on it!danidge wrote:you should connect it up mate its good fun, ive wired up a switch so that when i turn it on it doesnt turn over the engine and just turns on the ignition, just incase i dont want to remote start it. it is great when people walk past it and you turn it on they get proper confused
