New Zealand Trip Feb 2010
Hi all
Here is a few photos of my recent trip back home to New Zealand in Feb.
I had to go as my father was ill with terminal cancer and luckily I was able to get back a week before he passed away.
Anyway I then hired a bike for a few days a rode from Christchurch over to Hokitika on the West Coast and then down over the Haast Pass to Wanaka and then back to Christchurch (well almost)
All hese photos were more or less taken from the road side.
Porters Pass on the way to the West coast
Arthurs Pass National Park
Lunch at Arthurs Pass
Lake on the West Coast
River at Franz Joseph
Over the top of the Haast Pass towards Lake Wanaka/Hawera
The Lindis Pass Central Otago (Great bit of road)
View over Lake Pukaki to Mt Cook
About 40 minutes from Christchurch I came off and managed to take out a road sign in the process I was flown to Hospital where I was told that I had broken 9 ribs, 1 collar bone, a Cheek bone and also fractured my back as well as puncturing both lungs.
Fairly glad I was wearing a Jacket with a back protector as I don't think i'd still be walking if I hadn't.
It was a shame as I think up the point of crashing it was most probally three of the best days riding i've had.
Cheers all
Steve

Yep Gods own county until you come across a copper when you're cruising @ 110 kph
I'd need lazer jammers as well as radar detectors if I went back to live . I was back in 2006 and got stung in Otorohanga for doing 80kph in a 50 zone IN A MAZDA 1
