The flying Scotsman lashed that up in just a couple of hours after collection. Already it looks track ready. Good work GB. Now I've got to pull my finger out.

Sweet. 20 years old, but the only thing these are really wanting by now will be brakes serviced and new suspension bits, other than that they are sound with no real design faults and lovely engines.
You're lumped with a 39t rear sprocket unless you go for a silly light chain and ally sprockets, but I suppose you might as well as it is a trackbike.

Nice little bike the NC29, I have one as a track bike and had a blast on it at the Brands Hatch Indy circuit last year, really quick round the corners.

Re: NC29 CBR400RR TRACK N ROAD BIKE PROJECT
How's that project looking?
We just bought Steph a 39 also, pretty good shape with the Repsol fairings.
Needs a good clean in and around the frame etc, plus the usual inspection of sundries and full servicing down to gearbox etc before she tracks it.

Re: NC29 CBR400RR TRACK N ROAD BIKE PROJECT
Scottys project had to be shelved, the gearbox took a hammering as well as other parts. So got another nc29 to make a really goodun, engine is sound new chain and sprockets, brake pads, battery and some Chinese body so should be ready to go by the end of the month.

Re: NC29 CBR400RR TRACK N ROAD BIKE PROJECT
Unlucky that.
Steph's is sound engine-wise, but the suspension is like one of those horses on springs you see in the kiddy play grounds.
New fluids, pads, drive train etc and we'll see how it is after that.
Brakes, well.
Those hoses, jeez, I dunno how it ever stopped at speeds over 30moh lol
May need new springs up front too but we'll see how the thicker fork oil performs, she's only little, now quite as heavy as me.
