Longer throttle cables Empty Longer throttle cables

Post by Guest Tue 08 Dec 2009, 16:20

Just fitted a new top yoke n USDs to my Fireblade fighter. As expected, I need new cables. How much longer should I go ? 50mm would just do it with adjusters fully in , at their shortest. Was thinking 75mm longer would give me a bit more leeway. Can you go too long? Anybody besides Venhill do em. Dunno id Blackbird or Hornet cables would fit? Do venhill supply the adjuster and the 90 degree curved ends?

My MFW, professionally made one was a eBay bargain for £92. There are other pro ones for between £150 and £300. I am selleng my modded RRW one on eBay at the moment;not pretty , but it could be made so with a bit of work?

Most bike shops should have kit cables goodies to make you what you need.

I'd really like pre soldered cables from somewhere like Venhill if I can afford em. Had one pull off a clutch once, don't wanna get stuck!
Measuring up Blackbird cables would be great Baza thanks. Any chance of some pix of the ends as well? Cheers mate!

I could prolly do better than that, as long as it starts, its been in storage since I got the blade, where do you live, I have in the back of my head that it's crawley.
If no good I can do pics for you what do you want them of exactly (I have bar risers on the BB BTW so cables are tight)

Sorry mate, it's Hellrazzer that lives in Crawley. I live near Rye! Best just to check inner and outer lengths first please mate
I could do with pix of the ends and the adjusters . If I can buy proper Honda, soldered cables that would be perfect, thanks

Honda's throttle cables pull/push are almost identical at the twistgrip end, the length varies accordingto the model. Blackbird and VFR models are strong possibility. Need Zedhead to confirm the birds wheelbase

Hopefully the blackbird cables will be good, but bike shop cable kits will have soldered and screw type nipples depending on their sizes
