My restoration project.

Bought this CB650 about a year ago, stripped it the first weekend I had it ready for the frame to be stripped and powder coated.
But haven't realy touched it now for weeks due to being so busy all the time. I seem to have run out of steam with it....






I know it wouldn't be worth a great value when finished, but it was something to keep me occupied through winter...

That's what I like to see a rusty wreck waiting to be turned back into a motorbike!

It doesn't matter if you run out of steam on a project like this, time stops being a factor.
When you feel like it tends to work for me, and if other things have greater priority so be it!
Stick with it and amaze all those that speculate "it'll never go back together again!"

Back in 2000 I bought an 82 CB900 and ripped it apart, then bought a 79 donor that was already totally in bits.
The previous owner had bought it as a project to do, stripped it and stopped!
I then made the classic mistake of deciding to restore the 79 as I prefer the cleaner front forks, so sold off the 82 chassis.

About two or three year ago I got the rolling chassis built and sorted the wiring; then work stopped again.

First it was going to be totally standard, then a cafe racer and finally a flat tracker.

Recent inactivity with work and waiting for parts for my RRP resto saw me build up the engine and rebuild the carbs.

Finally after all these years with a total nut and bolt rebuild, I'm almost ready to start it (oil cooler goes on tomorrow).

Then it's just bodywork and paint.
Once it hits the road it'll wear two tax discs, the current one and the one from when it was last on the road, way back in 1997!

Thanks for that. Like you say, there's no hurry, it can wait until I find the time again.....
