STREET FIGHTERS Empty STREET FIGHTERS

Two guys with street fighter blades expressed concern about the poor mid range. The same topic was brought up by Megawatt.
The simple explanation is that with all rebuilds the wiring from both sides of the bike is relocated in the airwell just behind the headstock
This impedes air flow and from 6000 when dynamic forces increase with road speed causing a vortez effect in the air well the wiring obstructs that effect starving the engine of fresh air causing it to run on the rich side. There are two options major surgery on the wiring harness or jet down which would the easier of the two, after all SF's are not about top ends. As one biker said his biker ran better on the back wheel.

Or use a smaller front sprocket, won;t solve the problem, but will give a bit more bottom end

Yep its a common problem on fightered blades, for the mean time I've got all my wiring there too but I am running with dual pod K&N's on flatside carbs so I'll have to see how it all works out when she's on the road I guess & take it from there.

Flatslides on a streetfighter, no problems with air flow on that set up, you invest in a good quality steering damper on max setting and a good seat belt.
Just can't wait to get your first impressions Griz.

Laughing I've never really used a steering damper as I'm to darn heavy, I once took the damper off my gsxr1100 as I didn't like it at low speeds & I only got a slight wobble on when giving it the beans...

Um seat belt you say, where do I get one of those? rofl

She sure sounds mean when I've had it running so I can't wait to get it on the road & I'll be sure to give a write up on my first impressions, thats if I survive the ride! Laughing
