Re: New paint?
Here's a rough mock up of the new paint, there will be decals and company logo's too, I'm sure it'll look better in real life than my photo shop effort

Re: New paint?
That looks like a pretty cool paint scheme cabbie.
You are better at photoshop than me thats for sure!
Are the wheels staying gold or changing them again to either red, white or blue?

I'm using the gold 3 spoke's I painted in the build thread.
Out of the 10 emails I sent last night I got one reply saying:
We can do it for £850 but there is a 13 week wait.
Nice.

You'd think that for £850 they'd start tommorow.
There is a locally renown body shop round the corner for me that primarily does cars, but also has a bike department aswell. They are a professional outfit with the bake rooms and they do bespoke one offs and all bike body insurance approved work to.
A guy I was speaking to had a lairy design done on a faxer thou 's', so a little less body work than a blade, but they charged him £450 which I thought was really reasonable. They are a good 100 miles from you but might be worth having a chat with? I'm sure if you send the design to them they'll give you a price.

I thought they had a website but I can't find it?!
They are gone home for the day now but may be worth ringing them monday and emailing them the design

Re: New paint?
That looks gorgeuos as it is tho Cabbie, is the paint not in good condition as it is? If it is then why not just continue the blue of the tank across the top of the seat cowl, and then the red by you knees along underneath the seat cowl to the rear light?
It would be a stunner, as it all ready is, and yet you'd save a bundle of money too!
Just my 2p!

Re: New paint?
You could even just scrape a bit of blue right on the angle change at the lowest point of the tail piece right under where the rear seat finishes at the back?
Alsieboy? can you do 2 mock ups?

Re: New paint?
First point is the tail section, undertray and original faring are all different colour white's, second I want a different colour so it's a one off sort of thing.

Re: New paint?
Reading between the lines, I'd assume Fastbikefinder was taking a positive approach to a couple of issues.
One is the issue of costs getting high, and the other is time with the warmer weather approaching!
His point about the bodywork looking spot on is a valid one and didn't you say it was originally meant to be just a seat conversion?
If you were to follow his idea, within a week the bike could be on the road with you enjoying the fruits of your labour.
You could then buy bodywork as it became available and your pocket allowed to have the paint scheme you wanted.
If I remember correctly you left the Suzi seat and undertray standard, didn't you?
So get another of each wouldn't be a problem.
Tanks come up frequently on Ebay and for the fairing and front mudguard panels why not use new?
With no stonechips, scuffs etc, one of the Chinese bodykits could be stripped to go for spraying.
Wouldn't that leave you unrushed to find the right people to do the work, the bike on the road where it belongs, and time to really attend to every detail (you enjoy so much) about the new scheme before it's done?
Paint cost from RS Paints would only be around £100!
The disadvantages are it's waterbased paint sealed with a 2K laquer.
The blue would need a basecoat of silver and the Ross white has low coverage.
If you had a Honda panel and your sprayed seat held together you would see the colour dffference on the blue.
If you think that might be the way to go I'll post a pic to illustrate; though because it would be tank to seat, it'd be too far away to be of note.

Re: New paint?
I hear what you guys are saying but I want the bike 100% finished to a 100% standard before I ride it out the garage, if that means missing a few weeks of Summer then I'll have to suffer it.
I've spent all last evening sending emails to bike painters so I'm sure I'll find one by next week, fingers crossed.
