So this will be the new side stand, there will be a 12mm steel rod with an alloy tube over the top. I'll get the top part chromed.
Love the wheels, hate the discs; but that's just my tastes.
I know this is an old subject now Cabbie, however would this stand not look better and perform better if you made it from one piece of the acetal material?
Where the acetal is drilled for the metal part of the stand, it must surely be a weak point.
You're very forward thinking so must have considered it; can I ask why you decided against that course of action?
Moving from an aluminium frame, to a steel stand bracket, to part of the stand in acetal, to part of the stand in ally bar, looks a bit random and could draw the eye when mounted; couldn't you fabricate the mounting bracket from the acetal?

Re: GSXR 600 K5 tail conversion + quite a bit more in the end.
I didn't like the zinc coating finish (nasty grey colour) so the swing arm is being bead blasted back to alloy now, thats why I haven't posted for a while.

The bike will only be used in dry warm conditions so I'll just apply some silicon.

"watched Blue Peter" I was head of their R&D department when I was 5 years old.
I've just got to work out a way of incorporating a cut down squeeze bottle in to the project.

You could mould that into the fairings somewhere as an air scoop to force the air into the bike for extra cooling. Possibly adapting toilet roll sleeves to direct the air to its destination.
Just remember to always get an adult to do the cutting.... scissors are dangerous! Lol

It's just to make it look tidy rather than seeing the wiring etc.
