Silverstone 23rd Sept Report
My second track day at Silverstone ...
Day started with a cold ride from reading to Silverstone, I did not have my pit crew with me this time so could at least go over 70 mph ...
Was a bit p*ssed off with the weather as its been nice and sunny for for the past week its sods law that today would be rain ...
Did all the sighting laps, the track was part dry with wet patches here and there ..
First session, this went ok as I was used to the track I could at least push a bit, I did have a few rear wheel slides which made the ass cheeks glench up a bit, but over all the grip was not to bad, still down on the pace of the last track day ... finnished the session in one piece and quite pleased with my progress with left handers and getting my upper body into the corner ...
Second session, the track had a good dry line nearly all the way round by this time so gave it a bit more and had a bit more fun getting the knee down and generally trying to act the proper racer
This session finished far to quick for my liking but was still a good one ....
Then the weather played its part as it pissed it down for about an hour which really put an end to the day as the track never realy dried out enough for anything other than tip toeing around ...
Still enjoyed it and felt like I was getting there with upper body and left handers ...
may do another one this year but will book at the last min to get the weather
Dont think I could get off the bike any more, not with my old joints ...
