My (new) 2000 R1.
It was time to say goodbye to the Blade, and it was a toss up between an R1 and a 929/954 and this came along first whistle

Smart looking bike, I'm sure you will have loads of fun on it.
Totally different riding to the blade - enjoy

thanks :-)

compared with my 94 blade it feels smaller more planted and definitely better acceleration.
I would have loved to have kept the blade but garage space and funds do not allow..
i'll be back on a newer blade in a couple of years hyper

mmm now this might sound daft coming from someone that has a R1.
I would have bought the 954 over a 2000 R1 IMO.
Nice bike, but I had handling issues with my 2000 yam, the front felt it was going to tuck under at every corner.
I was convinced it was my riding style until people started talking about it in the bike mags.
With better tyres nowadays, hopefully you'll not feel this.

only had a few hours on it so far and haven't pushed it that hard yet. But not noticed anything like that yet. It's got BT14's on at the moment with a decent bit of wear left in them.
Its a price issue too, bikes here cost at least double what you pay in the UK, this cost me £8000, and i got £4200 back off the 94 blade.. the 954s i seen were up around £10-11000... fekkin ridiculous...

But thanks for the heads up mate, i'll keep a look out for that

Good choice.

As for the front folding, not had any inkling of that happening on mine nor any head shakes.
