Trackday in April 2013

Now then



I've never taken my beloved XJR onto the track. I've often talked about it but it's not the obvious choice for a track tool so I've always used my sportsbike that I 've had at the time but this is the year . I've posted on the XJR site and got some positive response so I',m gonna book a trackday for a few XJR lads. It will be in April at either Cadwell, Donny or Oulton. I'll post the date when I sort it and if anyone fancies joining us they're more than welcome . It will be on a normal public day by the way.

Im looking at donnington in april, it will be on a hire bike, so that means it will be no limits or easy track.

I hope we can sort it out to go together.

I will put the hoilday request in tomorrow.

That's me and my nephew booked

Ive put the request in for the day, just a waiting game now.
What group are you guys in ?

I've never been in anything but the fast group but I've always been on sports bikes. I've decided to go in the Intermediate group seen as I'm going on the XJR .

My nephew has never been on the track so I've put him in the novice group

I have the days off, but im not booking it until the week before.
I don't think the hire bike comes with snow tyres.

Are you in a hotel the night before ?

Yes, Premier Inn in Ashby De La Zouch. You fancy meeting up for a beer ?

He's on a red XJ600. Pre Diversion model. We're in a Chatsworth Windows Iveco large van. Oh and my XJR is Kenny Roberts Yellow, don't think there'll b many of them lol

Just got back from the cold day at donnington, big respect to anyone that did it.
JT was going well on the xjr, in the early sessions showing some of the sports bike's the way round.
Super smooth style a lesson in how it should be done.

Other lad on the xj600 was going well, not the best bike on the planet but goes to show you don't need to spend £££££££££££££££££££ to have fun.

JT can you pass on my thanks to Maz, for coffee during the lunch break.

Day went well and the old girl showed a clean pair of heals to some decent sports bike machinery

Some great pictures there JT. It looks like you could have taken several pillion rides on that size seat on the XJR...! Looks cracking, how was it to ride ?

You have to be smooth, she's not a point and squirt, just doesn't work. She's heavy and cumbersome but what a joy to hustle round a track, something I've wanted to do for 10 years and to go so well, amongst track and sportsbikes was a bonus, we weren't embarassed, not by a long way
