Scotland Rideout 2009

Post by NuttyTart on Fri Mar 06, 2009 12:54 pm

Thought I'd get the ball rolling for this and see who would be interested, couple of questions to get an idea of what to do/organise as I need to give work plenty of notice to get a weekend off rota...

1. Weekend away?
2. Just a Sunday blat?
3. Where?
4. When?

Post up to make a note of interest...

I'd be interested in meeting up for a ride, but I can't take days over it as I've already a week long ride around Scotland planned with my "home" forum in June.

Hi Nutty,
Im the same with lack of time, therefore a weekend thing for me is out but im up for a Sat or Sun rideout no probs. If anyone lives near Strathy park I dont mind meeting up with folk there and travelling to meet up with everyone. Soooo...

1. Weekend away? no can do
2. Just a Sunday blat? No probs same as Saturday
3. Where? What about an early morning start and head up to Skye? or do the Lochs/oban/glencoe?
4. When? I can make it if theres enough notice on the dates arranged.

Look forward to see the suggestions coming through
Cheers, Al. cheers

4. When? Suggest, a day nearest to the longest day so we can make the most of the daylight hours

Im in the same boat now im working for myself,
Skye is a good destination tho i would suggest we book somewhere for lunch as it tends to be a busy island during the summer months.

it will have to be an early meet time in the morning considering we will have day riders converging from all over gods country, meet points will have to be sorted once the eastcoast contingent decide where they are dossing for the weekend. Laughing

Sounds good I'm up for a hurl, unfortunately same as everyone else though. Probably better just throwing dates at the wall and seeing what sticks.

I would need to pass your place Big Al to go to gods cuntry coming from the east, don't mind following you to the next meet point.

Just a suggestion, good point made by chilli and bazza in earlier posts re: plod & tourists. Administrators have access to our e- addresses, fire off acouple of choice routes, mojority decision picks destination and date.

Ok bud, no probs.
re: plod & tourists
What do you guys think?...IMO Bank holidays are best to be avoided regarding tourists, last year I nearly got wiped out about three times on the one run. I think there must be literature somewhere for car driving tourists on entering Scotlands god country that reads as follows...eyebrow
***All 3 point turns with your caravan/trailer over the brow of a hill welcome***
***Only use your side windows to look at the views - please ignore looking through your windscreen. Emergency stopping at any speed on any road to look at the views is to be encouraged***
***Please ignore any vehicles with one headlight coming towards you, especially at junctions!***
rofl
Seriously though, maybe we can make a list of the routes we want to take then sort out dates or vice versa? Cheers

I struggle for time during the week to organise this but am free any weekends for a blast. Never been to a meet relating to this forum. cheers

Maybe a "noob" track day could be organised if we're not doing the whole road trip thing rockon
