NEC 2009

Post by iank on Wed 23 Sep 2009, 10:42

Hi all, anyone planning on going to the NEC show this year - despite there being NO HONDA this year!

If so does anyone fancy going up early as a group ride out?
I'm working on trying to get a load of trade passes for the day before all starts - well let you know how i get on!

Press pass, I'm not jealous really I'm not

My pal was there 2 years ago (all week from one of the bike clubs) he said he saw a helmet for sale by a dealer he said I went back the next day to buy it and the price had gone up, crafty boggars had displayed lower prices hoping to get the publicity as low priced dealers

nec bike show is shit, no deals. loads of tat. very very expensive, which negates any 'bargains' you might get.

never again

Its summat to do, I know what you mean about tat, best is BMF in May at Peterborough, I know what you'll say even more tat, but there are some bargs to be had if you go on the last day, and I mean bargs got a front paddock stand for £5 motrex brand plus there's plenty going off on the day, just need a decent day weather wise.

I might go, I went last year & had to hire a electric wheel chair as my feet can't handle all that walking, it was a laugh in the chair until I nearly hit a bike over with it!

Had the club stand there for several years and was not impressed with the attitude of the officials which over the years has put off many exhibitors.
The Ally Pally is also another victim when first started it was the
Sporting and Racing motorcylce show now stalls are cheap eastern leathers goods. Very few tuners bother to show up.

I'm going Friday 4th. Agree it's not all that (miles better than rip-off MCN Excel & Ally Pally though) but there ain't much other bike stuff around at this time of year!!

Plus, I have a list of stuff (and comparision WWW prices!)...

If the show was packed full of bargains with a low ticket price, the halls would fill up easy...........but they arnt, each year the show gets smaller, the price for the stands goes up, so traders cant afford to dish out the mega bargain stuff.
I just cant find anything positive to say about this show.

I've taken a vow never to attend any kind of bike shows again, I've had so many bad experiances with getting in and then the bollox food/drink prices etc (3 burgers and drinks £32!)
