My 08 Blade Mods.
I will try and put up a few pictures of the mods made already but in the mean time this is the latest editions (arse backwards i know but hey ho).
Well I decided to have a look and see what else I wanted to do to the blade and whilst I was over in the states I picked up some of the OEM (CBR1000RR) stickers that are used on the winning red bikes in the US and went about cutting it down so that I had the 1000RR piece only.
I decided that I would put them on the tail unit much like previous blades have had. I also got rid of the Honda sticker and my additional Fireblade sticker off the tail unit (see previous postins for pics) so that the 1000RR would be the focal point for the tail.
Overall I am pleased with the result (well for the moment at least).

It came out better than I expected and here is the bike from each side

Re: My 08 Blade Mods.
I always was in the frame of mine that if I bought an 08 Blade it would have to be a white one, but that looks so sweet.......if the Scoob didn't srink so much I would be tempted..

Thanks Alsieboy I have to give credit to you, your UT is absolutely gorgeous and likewise if I had some extra capital I would seriously put 3-4k into a very tasty example of the UT.

Re: My 08 Blade Mods.
Radiobloke: comments always welcome good and bad I do hear what your saying about the hugger, I will try and upload some pics without it and it just doesn't look right with the belly pan if its not on there, even the smaller one in black or painted.
The indicators are a temporary measure until I remodel the tail section (like below).

Once that is done I will have integrated indicators in the tail light section and will also mount the plate slightly different to how it is now, the R&G was always a temporary measure to get rid of the hanger they come with stock.
In regards to the tax disc, I have been collared a few times over the years for not displaying it so its easier to leave it where it is (oxford bolted waterproof holder).
If you are ever in the area you are more than welcome to have a play.

I think the hugger lends a nice balance of red to the back end compared to the standard one,..
but its a big maseev...maybe trim it back a bit...? bout half way...but shaped nice n sleek. thatd look cool!
planned mods sound good mate...keep the pics coming!

Re: My 08 Blade Mods.
Something about the look from the side just didn't sit well with me and I pin pointed it the other day when looking at the AMA rep 08 blade so having messed around with photoshop I decided it needed to be done.
I took the side panels off that fit between the seat and the subframe and took them to a friend to paint them up as he did such a good job of the belly pan I felt it only fair he repeat the good job on the infills.
Before (black plastic):

After (red paint):

Before (black plastic):

After (red paint):

The colour on the in fills seem a little darker but they will do for now until i take the seat fairing stuff down to him then he can paint them all up the same as the tank/belly pan.

Re: My 08 Blade Mods.
Yeah I still have the hugger, I might swap back to the OEM splashguard when the tail is shaved but I doubt it as I like the current hugger and pics really don't do it the justice it deserves.

I can now custom make the fill in panel to clean up the gap from the OEM can and bring it more symmetrical with the left side.
