Post by evoblade on Fri 10 Aug 2007, 19:13

Thanks people,

it is a really nice bike, i certainly dont have the balls to ride it lke it should be ridden, but i do try now and again, i also had Russell Savory's Evo Blade Paddock jacket but some low form of pondlife broke into my garage and stole that as well as me and the wifes leathers, luckily tho they left the bike albeit it was chained up etc etc ,
i was looking at putting it up for sale and getting a Ducati but everytime i go to do it i have second thoughts, however i'm 49 now and maybe just getting a little old to be flying around at warp factor 8 for much longer, i did put abit of a write up on the old site , so maybe will do again on this one , i think there's a guy in Derbyshire who had No 1 , Rivington Barn i think , anyway stay upright people , and if you havent yet , get you and your bike to Spain for some fantastic roads and weather, oh and virtually no Gatso's , well not where i live anyway, Nerja on the Del Sol

Re: My Evo Blade

Post by evoblade on Sun 12 Aug 2007, 19:52

This Evo' has a number of upgraded parts on it such as;

Full Sanyo Honda HRC exhaust system. (priceless).
Brembo WSB Spec billet front callipers and discs with two sets of pads, fast road/race (fitted) and road.
One-off solid carbon rear sets with titanium heel plates. ( made by Dymag at £1500.00 per set)
Samco Silicone race spec hoses.
Titanium tapered head stock bolts.
Goodridge Sanyo Honda brake hoses.
Spare Sanyo race front fairing, seat and under tray (origional, as used by Jim Moodie in the NW 200) I have a photo !
Dyno chart showing 133+ BHP at the rear wheel (150+ at crank)
BT012SS tyres.

The Evo Blade TT100, was designed and built by RS Performance and Tadao Baba from Honda to commemorate Honda's 100th senior TT win and to compete against the "new" R1 when it came out.

It never made the homologation limit of 250 bikes sold, due to it's high cost of £22,000 OTR. Only about 25 bikes were ever built, the rest of the kit parts were sold off to whoever to pay for the project costs. I know the owner of RS, so had access to his parts bin ! The fairings were designed by John Keogh and are slimmer with bigger cooling ports than the stock blade of that era.

The paint job includes all the front and side graphics are "cut into" the paintwork. They are not stickers !

A guy I work with won one of these a few years ago. Was delivered to him fully crated up, along with another box containing paddock stands, spare fairing, bike cover; the whole 9 yards.
As hard as he tried he just couldn't get the insurance so it sat there in his garage until one day he put it up for sale. £14k he got for it a few years back. Lovely bike but it never turned a wheel. Bought by a collector if I remember rightly.

Post by evoblade on Thu 03 Sep 2009, 15:50

Thanks people, just a quickie for anyone thinking of bringing a bike out here from the UK, i am having an absolute nightmare trying to get the bike on spanish plates, mine especially as its not a homologated bike, was suppossed to have had it ITV'd ( MOT ) this week ready to go on spanish plates, however because it it not the same spec as per 98 / 99 fireblade it looks like i will not be able to get the bike on spanish plates , as any vehicle has to be exacxtly as its says on the tin, so i may well have to sell it, which will really piss me off, having said that i go back to work next week and should find out in Nov when i'm home again if its poss to get spanish plates, the spanish are still quite a way behind in some things Smile
anyway people , hope you still have enough sun and dry roads over there to get out,
