Tyre pressures

For the past few days I have thought that the bike was starting to wander round corners and on checking the tyre pressures, surprise surprise 36/34.

Bridgestone and Honda both say 42/36 but now that they are back up to pressure I feel like I have gone the other way. I am going to drop them down to 40/34 and see if that improves things.

Am I the only one riding them at full pressure? Anyone got a better suggestion than 40/34 A trawl round the internet suggests that 42/36 are full fully loaded riding not your general commute.

Anything in the 40's is high. I keep mine at 34psi front 36psi rear.

If I remember to check them ...tut tut.. I would normally keep them at about 38 and 34. This seems to be the optimum for me anyway ( but I ain't a small bloke lol )

Nice site, loved the pic's of the 954 with different exhausts. Oops, tyre pressures, I see the site goes with the 42/36 for road and 34/32 for track. I think I'm going to go with 38/34 and see if that improves the handling..... sadly I think I have a slow puncture as I only checked the pressures two days ago and I've already lost 3psi in the rear tyre..... Oh joy....

Sadly true, which leads on to.... do I keep the BT014's which I have hated on this bike (but where the best tyre I ever had on the CBR6), or do I change to something else. The Bridgestones are good in warm weather but doing the commute in December..... positively scary, but I guess that could be coz the tyre pressure was so high. Decisions, decisions, decisions......

MICHELINS switch to them NOW

After a tyre talk by a guy from Michelin at our local IAM group meet, where he told us the reccomended pressures are for a fully laden bike. I run mine at 36 rear 34 front, but I am only11 stone. It works ok for me

Look here Round and Black They are great and do the special pair deals. I ordered on the Wednesday at about midday and the tyre was here at 08:45 the next day.

P.s Actually got the 190's but were the same price.

I wish I could fit them myself mate but the bike is parked in an underground car park. Just washing it is a pain in the arse when I have to bring everything down from the fifth floor.

I have been running 34 front 38 back, seems to give a bit more feedback especially from the front.
