For the past few days I have thought that the bike was starting to wander round corners and on checking the tyre pressures, surprise surprise 36/34.

Bridgestone and Honda both say 42/36 but now that they are back up to pressure I feel like I have gone the other way. I am going to drop them down to 40/34 and see if that improves things.

Am I the only one riding them at full pressure? Anyone got a better suggestion than 40/34 A trawl round the internet suggests that 42/36 are full fully ...

How to tell if your reg/rec is about to die

When the r/r dies, it can do so in many different ways. If you get unlucky, it can go out spectacularly and take a lot of the rest of the bike's electrical systems out with it (I've seen fried ECUs from this for example). If you're really ...

OR

07NMG MY90100

.......to hold the cam chain tensioner at the limit of wear to your chain.

This is a £20 tool, which is T shaped and 1mm thick!

I found that in the 929 manual there is an instruction diagram as an alternative to using the Honda tool.

This article is a guide to help you check your rear suspension linkage bushes, which can fail a MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT check / MOT.

Once worn to excess, can also seriously upset your handling which bothers us more.

Don't be intimidated by your bikes weight. Gone are the days of the bike being the boss.

Suspension setup explained

Having the suspension on your bike set-up as best it can be for the type of riding you do is the most important modification anybody can make if they intend on getting the most from their bike. The best part of this modification is that it doesn't cost a penny.

A bike that has the suspension set-up correctly will improve the handling of the bike by raising the confidence the rider has in the machine, increases traction and grip levels and will ensure you minimise ...

This only the second time I've painted wheels so I'm no expert but here's how I do it:

The wheel will need repairing for the primer, I removed all the casting letters etc and completely rubbed the wheel down.

It's worth fitting new bearings before you start painting as you don't want to mess up all you're hard work changing them if they go bad 2 months after refitting the wheel.

You will need a stand of some kind to rotate the wheel while the painting takes place.

You will ...

Charging System

In 1992 there was a quantum leap in the world of motorcycling where Honda went back to basics with a policy statement of “complete harmony” which resulted in the birth of the now infamous Fireblade RR.

This 893cc machine flipped the motorcycling world more times than the most acrobatic motocrosser. The press produced glowing reports of the Blade’s performance with a final sentence of “go get one” before Brussels put a stop to it. That’s exactly what I did.

The bike ...

You'll need one of these per indicator, H5R6

Just connect the resistor between the two wires of each LED indicator and your indicators should flash correctly...

People sell two of these and four snaplock connectors for £6 plus postage on ebay!

Hope this saves someone a little hassle...

Cheers

Everyone knows salt is corrosive to bikes, no question there. But that needn't be the reason to worry about riding your bike in winter. All it takes is a little love.

I'm a busy person most days. If I'm not working overtime at work (don't get home 'til half 7 most days), or continuing to polish my NC30 (it'll never be clean enough), I'm out and about doing other non-bike-related activities. i.e. I do like to keep my bikes in good working order, but I have a life beyond my forum nickname/reputation ...
